I was sent some of the books via Aria Fiction/Netgalley for the purpose of review. This post contains affiliate links.
Yes, I’m still reading quite voraciousy! Here is my round up of books 51 to 55. You can read my other posts here: Books 1-5, Books 6-10, Books 11-15, Books 16-20, Books 21-25, Books 26-30, Books 31-35, Books 36-40, Books 41-45 and Books 46-50.
London Peculiars by Peter Ashley – 4/5
I was sent this book by ACC Art Books for the purpose of review. You can read my full review here. This was an interesting read, detailing different places in London that are more obscure than the places you would usually visit. If you are keen to spend more time in London, you definitely need to read this book. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
When The Time Comes by Adele O’Neill – 4/5
I received an ARC of the purpose of review via Netgalley. This was hard hitting and close to home – having a cousin with motor neurone disease, I know all too well what effects the condition can have on not only the person with it but also the family and friends of those around them.
The book starts with Liam Buckley, estranged husband of Jennifer (the person suffering with motor neurone disease) visiting his local police station to protest his innocence in relation to her death. The police currently think it is a suicide, pending post mortem results so why would he appear and tell the police this unless he had a guilty conscience?
What follows is a well woven tale about the lead up and the aftermath of Jennifer’s death for a number of characters. I always believed Liam that he had nothing to do with his estranged wife’s death and although I had an inkling that someone was involved with it, I was still a little surprised by the ending. An emotional, tense read. One I’d definitely recommend. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
Spying In High Heels by Gemma Halliday – 3/5
I’ve had my Kindle for many years now and have books on there that I bought years ago that I hadn’t yet read. I decided to delve far into my archives and found this. It was an interesting mystery, introducing me to a new author. I found the reveal shocking, the author definitely kept me guessing although the main character’s love life took up far too much of the book. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
What I Wish I Knew Before 30: Life Lessons To Inspire You To Greatness by Francis Jonah – 3/5
As someone who is about to turn 30, I was intrigued by this book. I wasn’t entirely sure who the author was writing to – the recipients were all named but it did seem a little bit confusing. I took away some lessons but it wasn’t as interesting as I thought it would be. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
The Unlikely Triathlete by Deborah Longman – 4/5
I’m not middle aged and I’m not diabetic but as someone who is looking to get into/get back into exercise after almost four years away from doing anything properly, I was interested in this. This book is more a large excerpt than a book but it was interesting and made me think more about the exercises I want to do and what I can achieve if I put my mind to it. Definitely considering reading the others in the series. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
So there you have it! I’m now onto books 56 and 57 (yep, I am reading two at the same time – one for blog review and one for Netgalley review although one is fiction and one is non fiction). I’ll soon be at book 60 which is 5 times the challenge I set myself – I’m so proud of myself. I’m hoping to invest in some of the best Instant Pot cookbooks too, get to using it a little more often!
How are you getting on with your reading challenge?

You are getting through books so quickly! I think I’ve managed about 5 haha! The Unlikely Triathlete sounds really interesting and good on them for taking such an amazing step.
I smashed the reading challenge I set myself in the first month of the year!
I need some new book inspiration! I’ve just finished mine. I like the sound of When The Time Comes by Adele O’Neill.
