Magic Under The Mistletoe by Lucy Coleman – 4/5

I was gifted a copy of this novel by Aria Fiction for the purpose of review. Leesa is an ambitious and driven business woman working for the seemingly arrogant and bossy Cary. Both having to suffer through Christmases they don’t really want to, they come up with a plan to help each other through the holidays, But when do plans ever run smoothly?

I really enjoyed many of the characters especially Cary’s romance novelist Grandma Cressida and George, the man she meets on the plane home from Australia. I would have liked to see more of Jeff and seen the storyline to do with Cary’s business explored a little more. Overall this was a light hearted festive read and has got me in the festive mood months in advance. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.

This Is Going To Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor by Adam Kay – 5/5

I’ve heard such amazing things about this book! I had to read it so took it on holiday with me and devoured it by the pool at our private villa. It was a fascinating read and one I’d definitely recommend people read. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.

Seven Deadly Sins: Settling The Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good – 4/5

I’ve been a fan of Slipknot, especially Corey Taylor, since I was a teen. I’ve always wanted to read his book but had never got round to it so when I saw this in our private villa, I had to read it. I read this by the pool and really enjoyed it – it was interesting to find out about the man behind the band. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.

When Losers Don’t Quit: Reflections of a part-time winner by Neill Johnstone – 5/5

You all know how much I love entering competitions so this book by Neill from the comping community was a really interesting read. I loved finding out more about his comping journey and the weird and wonderful prizes he has won. It definitely motivated me to get comping again! One Christmas Star by Mandy Baggot – 4/5

I was gifted a copy of this novel by Aria Fiction for the purpose of review. Looking for a fun, festive read? This is the one for you. Whilst I found it slow building to begin with, this tale has everything you could want from a Christmas read. Fun flirty festivities; heartbreak and past trauma; lost love, budding relationships, heartwarming moments.

Emily is the Year 6 teacher, tasked with putting on the Christmas performance. Having to add in advertising for pupil’s parents aside, her life gets turned upside down when she meets Ray Stone. Trying to deal with the stress of the performance, her overbearing mother and her feelings, this is a heartfelt read. I’d definitely recommend if you are looking for a festive but fun read.
