A month or two back, I happened to be browsing MoneySavingExpert.com and found out about a little glitch at Boots stores nationwide. In that month’s issue of their Health & Beauty magazine, there was a coupon for a free Cheekmate from the Soap & Glory range. What the MSE forum members had worked out was that there was a way of getting 3 items for the price of 1 – and who was I to say no to a bargain like that? Makeup was on 3 for 2 that week also, so all you needed to do was pick up one item cheaper than the standard RRP of the Cheekmate.
I picked up Cheekmate (£8), A Great Kisser lip balm (chocolate cherry flavour – £5) and a Super-Colour Fabulipstick in the shade Guava Rama(£9). Once taken up to the till, the cheapest item automatically gets taken off, the one in question here being the lip balm. I then handed over the coupon for my free Cheekmate and left with my new purchases, having only paid for the lipstick.
Usually you would not be able to combine offers but as it automatically goes through the till, there was nothing they could do to stop this glitch – and I was hardly going to let them, was I?

I love this lipstick on first impressions. The colour is gorgeous, the packaging is simple but attractive and I love the S&G logo embossed into the lipstick itself. It feels quite moisturising on the lips and is actually quite long lasting. I wore it on a day where I was at home, looking after Jack and doing blog related things – but it was so hot so I was constantly drinking and running the risk of my makeup melting off my face – and still it stayed. It finally showed signs of wearing after 3 hours which is pretty impressive in my book!
I’ll be honest with you; I didn’t really need another lip balm. I did, however, want to get something for free – what am I like? – so I picked this up anyway as the chocolate cherry flavour hooked me in. I wouldn’t say either flavour is very strong but it is quite nice and the scent is inoffensive too. Balm wise, it is okay but nothing special – it definitely won’t be replacing my holy grail product, that’s for sure.
I was a bit dubious about trying Cheekmate at first, but when it is free, you can hardly complain can you? I do like a subtle flush in the summer and although I did apply perhaps a bit too much to my hand when swatching, you can see that once blended in this will lend itself to a nice rosy flush that should look nice on anyone. I haven’t yet tried it on my lips as I am much more of a lipstick person but I am interested to find out if you have and what you thought of it?
Did you take advantage of the S&G glitch at Boots?

I'm yet to try any of the S&G makeup, i was even looking at the stand today! I just can't decide which bits to buy. The lip balms look lovely though x
They are so nice!
That lipstick looks lovely. Soap&Glory hand lotion is an HG product for me, so I've been interested in the makeup products too.
