A Day At The Park

The other day, I happened to have a day off and as the weather was really nice and I didn’t have much housework to do (for once!), I decided to meet up with my Dad and take Jack to the park!

We spent a good half an hour playing there, Jack was obsessed with the slide and didn’t want to leave it, preferring to run back to it and trying to climb back up it as soon as we walked away! He loved the swings although wasn’t as keen on the roundabout – he sat there very quietly which is a little unusual for him, he is usually shouting away to mark his presence!

We then started to walk down to our village high street, but we stopped at our local pub on the way for a quick refreshment, preferring to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We then picked up some cod, chips and fish bites for Jack for a picnic in the sunshine. There is a beautiful little park off the High Street which used to be part of the grounds of the big country house in our village – however, the village now owns it and it is nice to chill out there every once in a while or just to take a stroll through. We chose the one bench in the shade and Jack even got to say hi to a few of his friends!

You’ve probably already seen this picture on Instagram but here is Jack enjoying his chippy lunch – makes me hungry all over again just looking at it!

We had a fab day out with my Dad and it barely cost anything. I don’t really get much time with Jack right now, being at work 5 days a week (but of course, that is soon to change!) and this means I don’t see my parents all too often too! I have only been seeing my Dad recently when he comes to look after Jack so I can go to work! It was nice to spend a couple of hours with two of the most important people in my life and just sample what our tiny village had to offer.

We’re planning to go to the seaside over the next couple of weeks – I can’t wait!
