We were sent a selection of items from the Playmobil Zoo range for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
Having reviewed the Playmobil advent calendar at Christmas, we were very happy to be asked to review some of the sets from the Playmobil Zoo range. The kids absolutely adore Playmobil and love playing with new sets so we couldn’t wait to see what arrived and how to put it together.

We were sent three items from the range – the Alligator and Babies, retailing at £9.99 and for ages 4+; the Elephant Habitat, retailing at £19.99 and for ages 4+ and the Large City Zoo which retails at £59.99. So what did we think?
Alligator With Babies

This set has just three pieces and does not require any assembly. It features an adult alligator and two alligator babies. It works alongside the other sets to make a whole big zoo and it can be bought here.
Elephant Habitat

The Elephant Habitat is fairly easy to put together and has 17 pieces. It contains: a man, an elephant, a baby elephant, a demarcation element, a water ditch with water plants, a tree, a straw bundle and a peaked cap. This took us less than two minutes to put together and Olivia loved playing with them on their own and as part of a much bigger multi-set setup. You can buy it here.
Large City Zoo

The largest set from the three we were sent, this is the Large City Zoo. It contains 213 pieces and you certainly need some patience to put this together. Some of it is quite large and relatively easy to put together but other pieces were extremely small and fiddly. I helped the kids put this set together and there were many times that Jack passed something over for me to attach or fit together because he couldn’t manage it.
Some of the pieces were that fiddly that I ended up asking Steve to help as I was struggling to attach pieces together. However it became easier and easier the further we got in to putting the set together and it was wonderful to see all the different elements of the zoo come together.

As it all came together, the kids got more and more excited and once everything was in its rightful place, it was extremely impressive to look at. The different animals, the range of things you always expect to see at a zoo, the set has everything.
I also really like that the animals and people are a decent size and are durable and very good quality. The set also is very vibrant in colour, much like you would expect a real life zoo to be.

It is a very impressive set and can be bought here.
We are always impressed with Playmobil as they offer durable and good quality toys at affordable prices. Their sets always work together so the elephants and the alligators from the other two sets in the range are now happily chilling out with the giraffes and penguins at the zoo. The largest set was a little fiddly in places so children the lower end of the age range may find putting the set together a little tricky but overall, it is fairly easy to put together and fun to do so too!
Do you have any items in the Playmobil Zoo range?

Awesome. It sure is a nice playset. The kids will have hours and hours of imaginative play. I might get this for my niece whose birthday will be coming up soon.
Nila is obsessed with Playmobil and loves animal . These look great and would be a great one for her birthday next month
Wow, the full zoo set looks super cool! We used to love Playmobil as kids, it’s so good to know it’s still popular x
Playmobil makes some great toys. I particularly like the elephant habitat. Great sets to help children learn about animals
I don’t have kids, but I remember playing with Playmobil as a kid. Love their zoo series, fun way to learn about animals!
