We were sent this Playmobil advent calendar for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
Now I don’t know about you but I knew Christmas was truly on its way when the advent calendar came out on the first day of December. As a child, I spent all year waiting for the month where I could eat that tiny chocolate every single day! We didn’t have a traditional one at our house but had family and friends that did too.
Nowadays not only can you get the traditional advent calendars and chocolate advent calendars but there are also many other types too – toys, books, cheese and even alcohol! There is so much choice out there so I wanted to tell you about one we get every year – a Playmobil advent calendar.

What Playmobil Advent Calendar Should I Choose?
There are a number of advent calendars to choose from on the Playmobil site. Some are better suited to younger children such as the 1,2,3 calendar whereas others such as the Back to the Future one are better for older children.
What Did We Receive?
We received the Christmas Toy Store advent calendar which retails at £19.99 on the Playmobil website. It has 89 pieces and a scene that you put together in which to put the pieces/figurines you receive.
What Did We Think?
First of all I loved that the box comes in an outer sleeve which contains the pop up toy store on which to place the items you receive every day when you open a door. This is a real nice touch as it ensures you don’t have to open the whole box to get it out. I also think it’s great that the back of the box shows exactly what you can expect from each day. Some might say this spoils the surprise but I think it is wonderful as it means you can double check you have everything you need – and after all, you don’t need to show the kids the back of the box, do you?

I will admit I found the toy store a little fiddly to put together at first – lots of slotting into place and folding flaps in the right way but eventually we managed to get it looking perfect! Then it was time to open some doors and see what was contained within.

As you can see, the store itself is super festive and colourful and it is a wonderful place in which to put each figure and each part of the toy store as you open up the doors! I think it’s lovely that you can build up the scene day by day – or play with them instead if you wish – and once Christmas is over, you still have a great little collection of Playmobil to play with.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we were very impressed with this advent calendar. It is good quality with durable and detailed pieces, it is affordable at just £19.99 and it will last long beyond Christmas as kids can play with the Playmobil for months to come.

We may even be purchasing another from the range – we haven’t yet decided which – to open in December too!

I have a friend who gets a Palymobile advent calendar every year for her son he loves them and each day she shares what he got that day
My granddaughter has just started collecting Playmobil so this would be perfect for her.
I remember having an Advent calendar when I was a child. This one is really nice, I think my newphew would enjoy opening each day.
For under £20 this is really good value, although there are an awful lot of advent calendars to choose between now x
Oh I’m so tempted to get this for my son-I love how there’s so much choice this year!
I really love playmobil and we had one of their advent calendars last year and it was amazing. My daughter loved it so much I will be getting one again for her this year. I just can’t decide which one!
This sounds like a lovely advent calender so much better than ones filled with chocolates.
We tend to alternate between lego and playmobil calendars and have quite a collection now
I love the Playmobil Advent Calendars. We have three of them and only get them out at Christmas which makes them extra special. We carefully open the doors so it can be reused each year!
This looks great, my niece and nephew love playmobil!
Oh wow, this looks so good! My eldest loves Playmobil. I was considering buying him one but never got around to it. There’s so many to choose from too!
