Plant Pops Snacks | Review

We were sent a range of the Plant Pops snacks for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

During this lockdown period, I swear the words I hear most all day are ‘Mummy, I’m hungry!‘. All they seem to want to do is eat and whilst we are eating nice healthy meals at dinner, I am trying to stop them snacking as much or at least try them on different snacks.

Step forward Plant Pops. They are a British brand on a mission to help individuals snack differently with their range of plant based products. They have launched with their three flavour range of Popped Lotus seeds and we were sent the three different flavours to try out.

The three flavours in the range are Himalayan Salt, Peanut Butter and Smoked Chilli. Made from the seeds of the water lily plant, this snack has been a staple in India for centuries and Plant Pops want to bring it here, updating the product for a contemporary audience with unique flavours and a fully plant based recipe.

So what did we think of them?

Well Jack was straight in with the peanut butter ones – he adores peanut butter – and devoured them in minutes. He described them as being like popcorn which is how Plant Pops describe them – they have a popcorn like crunch and a light airy texture. Olivia tried the Himalayan salt and as she’s three, she isn’t very good at describing what she thinks but she did also say ‘like popcorn, Mummy!’.

I myself tried the chilli ones and found the flavour delicious but not too overwhelming as some chilli flavoured products can be. These Plant Pops snacks are a great healthy snack alternative to the more sugar or salt filled options your little one may normally try – or even you! They are roasted not fried, contain no artificial ingredients, preservatives or palm oil and they are 100% vegan and gluten free. Each packet is under 99 calories too!

We really enjoyed these snacks – they’re delicious and I love how light and airy they are! With the seeds sourced directly from local farmers in Bihar, India (where they are sustainably grown and harvested), you know they’re natural and good for you!

You can buy the snacks at Harvey Nichols or here, using the code IBELIEVEINFUTURES to get yourself 20% off. They have an RRP of £1.20. Would you try these snacks?
