I could never claim to be a wine connoisseur – in fact, I barely drank it until my mid twenties and even then stuck to mainly white and the very odd rosé. I still don’t know much about them but with Steve, his Dad and brother all enjoying a red wine or two, I’ve started to learn a little more about them and the differences between them.
Did you know there are different ways of producing, different regions, different types? I am sure we all knew that there were different types of red wines and white wines – we can all probably name a handful of each – but it has been really interesting to learn all about the various differences that there are.
I previously wrote about a delicious wine from Independent Wine and mentioned how they often write really informative articles to aid consumers in choosing the best wine for them and what to look out for. They recently released a really interesting article answering the question are premium and high-volume wine made in the same way? Did you know that when it comes to high volume wine, production needs to be as fast as possible and so this means they will use machinery and may use chemicals. When it comes to premium wine, care and time is taken and manual labour will be used instead of machinery and there won’t be any chemicals either. Quite interesting to see just how differently these types of wine are produced!

I’ve been browsing the shop recently with my new-found knowledge from the articles and have a few picked out that I will be ordering next payday. Now that lockdown is easing and two households can meet from the weekend, I can’t wait to enjoy a glass of wine with my friends and perhaps finally have my mini housewarming – I’ll definitely need wine for that!
How much do you know about wine?

I really enjoy learning about wine, there is so much variety and of course, it is very enjoyable too! lol Mich x
I think this is something Rachel would like, she is definitely the wine drinker in this house!
