I’ve mentioned before that as I’ve got older, my tastes have completely changed. This is for most things – whilst I still love a crime thriller, I’m not too keen on chick lit anymore. I used to hate curries and now I love them. The same goes for alcohol- there are so many different drinks that I hated when I was younger but love a glass of now!
I don’t claim to know much about the stuff I drink though – I just know what tastes nice and what doesn’t. I’ve recently been reading a very helpful guide to the best Italian wine and it has been so helpful to me- even helping me to choose the wine I mentioned here.

Wine is something I have always wanted to learn more about and this has really helped me when it comes to Italian wine. If you’d have asked me the best types of wine the country has to offer or the best wines per region, I’d have been absolutely clueless but now I know that little bit more.
With a partner who has always enjoyed a glass of wine and friends too, it is nice to finally be able to talk to them about wine rather than just talking about the taste! The guide is really useful for telling you the wines from each region, what they taste like and the award winning wines that region has to offer. Let’s just say I have put quite a few on my list to try next!

As well as the guide, there are plenty of in depth articles on the site too so you can get to know those wines a little better. I’m especially keen to check out the article about pairing wine with food – I never know what makes the perfect pairing.
Do you know much about Italian wines – or even wines in general? I definitely am going to learn more about them as I find it very interesting.

Very useful to have a guide. I did a wine qualification years back when I was at Uni and it was so useful, I still love a full-bodied chianti. Mich x
I’ve spent some time living an Italy and was able to help with the production of wine. It’s so interesting to learn more about them even though I don’t even drink
My taste buds change over years. I’m not a fan of red wine but my hubby is.
