We love making our home truly look like ours. As we privately rent, it is important to add our very own touches so it showcases some of our personalities. One such thing that we like to buy is wall art. Wall art is a must in my home because we find that it can really jazz up a room.
When it comes to wall art, we like to have a variety of different styles depending on the room it is in. What we like in the living room is different to what we like in the office which is different to the bedrooms.
We have a variety of canvas prints in our living room and hallway and posters and prints dotted around the rest of the house. But why exactly is wall art a must in my home?
It looks good
First and foremost, wall art looks good. Whether you choose to have photos of your family, photos from your travels, art replicas or quotes you like, it all looks good. It is always of the finest quality and to your taste entirely.
It provides a talking point
A good piece of wall art can provide something to talk about. Sometimes it will simply be a case of someone asking where you got it from, other times a chat about your travels and what you thought of the place itself. For instance, this Eiffel Tower print would work so well in my home as it was one of my favourite places to visit in Paris!

It can brighten up a room
Many rooms, especially living rooms, can be quite neutral in colour – creams, whites and beiges reign supreme when it comes to living room wall colours. This means a good piece of wall art can really bring a level of colour or vibrancy and really brighten up a room! If your room is lacking that little of pizzazz, consider a piece of wall art. It will certainly brighten up the place.
Interior designers believe it matters most
You get the odd person who refuses to have any wall art in their home and I just cannot understand why. It provides a little bit of personality, often provides some memories and even renowned interior designers have gone on record to say it matters the most and can really tie the decor together. All you need to choose is the right art to suit your home.
It means a lot to me
All the pieces in my home hold a special meaning to me – we have the one we bought when Jack was born, some ones from various holidays, some quotes we really like and even some fine art replicas. All have a special meaning to me – whether it is time we have spent together as our little family of four or memories from my childhood. Every piece has its own special meaning and means I will never get rid of it or replace it – I will simply add to my collection!
Wall art is a must in my home – is it a must in yours?

Yes, all the pictures and [rints in my house mean something or hold memories, it is so good to look at them and be transported to a different time. Mich x
Art is an absolute must in our home – we have select pieces throughout, carefully picked for the memories! Pride of place is a print of a Renoir in the apartment we stayed in for our honeymoon.
Love a but of wall art! Unfortunately I live in a rental so can’t put anything up on walls! 🙁
I love wall art. I painted some of the pieces we have on the walls, but we also have some prints and paintings made by other people. Nothing jazzes up a room more than a good piece of wall art x
