They can be super stylish with sweaters that match dog beds and collars.

There are even “earmuffs” you can use to keep your dog’s ears warm/ Easy on with Velcro, they wrap around a dog’s ears and neck. Or, you can find fleece dog earmuffs that are designed for long-eared dogs, keeping them dry and warm.

If you like DIY products, you can even make dog clothes to keep your pet warm. Mylar and other waterproof materials, especially fleece-lined, can be great when making your own dog clothes.

Protection from the cold is particularly important for older dogs who may have arthritis. Dogs who have little body fat also need to keep warm in cold weather. You may think your dog’s fur is enough to keep them warm, but if you are cold when you go outside, your dog may be too.

With daily walks necessary to keep your dogs healthy, keeping them warm is especially important. When the temperature drops, sometimes their fur just isn’t enough. Cold weather can be dangerous when your dog’s immune systems are compromised, such as with many dogs adopted from shelters.  Conditions like diabetes, heart disease and hormonal balances can prevent a dog from being able to regulate body temperatures.

My parent’s dog has a massive range of clothes, they’re always buying him different things to wear. Your dog is beautiful

  2. I love dogs in coats or jumpers, they look so cute and it is really practical for them too, especially if they are short furred and skinny. My Dad won’t let their old lab have a coat, but my mum would love it! lol Mich x

  3. I saw a dog in a little Barbour jacket the other day. Too cute! I didn’t know you could get waterproof dog shoes though, that’s a new one for me!

Winter can be cold, it can also be dark. A reflector on dog coat or dog collar I believe is an essential in order to assist safety. Owner / pedestrian can benefit from a reflector, etc :- Health and Safety are Important Aspects. Winter can be a dangerous time, so worthwhile taking appropriate precautions / safety measures.
