Taking Some Time For Myself

I wrote recently about how I was struggling with everything and how I just needed to find some time for myself. But that is easier said then done when you’ve got a partner off sick from work, a five year old who attends school full time and a 4 month old baby. Time to myself just doesn’t seem to happen. However, this weekend I finally have managed to score some time to myself with no work, no school stuff to worry about, nothing. So what am I planning on doing?

Relaxing In The Bath

I rely on a quick shower to get me through most days but I would love to actually be able to take the time and chill out in the bath for longer than five minutes. I’m going to get my bubble bath out, a good book and just relax.

Watch A New Film

I’m finally getting back into watching films again so I may pick up a new film from HMV and chill out on the sofa with Steve once the kids have gone to bed. We don’t get much time to do this anymore as I have been working so much.

Read A Book

I haven’t actually managed to read any book the whole way through yet this year which is appalling. I want to get cracking on my massive TBR so sitting down and reading a book, whether it’s one of my murder mysteries or one of my money management non fictions, should get me some time to myself.

Say No More Often

Recently I’ve been overwhelmed with freelance work and it can get a bit stressful juggling things around. Sometimes I should just explain that I’ve got x amount of work already and that I can start in a couple of days or recommend someone else for the job. Unfortunately we need the money at the moment so juggling seems to be a good skill I’ve developed!

What do you do to take time for yourself?
