I was sent a package from Subscents for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was recently contacted by someone I had worked with previously in another capacity, asking if I would like to review some of the scents from their new business venture, Subscents.
Subscents stock fragrance samples of the best perfumes and aftershaves from all around the world. As someone who loves a good perfume – especially trying a new one -, I was in love with the concept.
I’ve always loved buying perfume. I remember back in my teens when I first got into perfume and my local pharmacy had so many lovely perfumes in their perfume display counter. My friend Kirsty and I worked in the shop next door and always used to head in there every month on payday and buy a new one. My first one was Flower by Kenzo – I’d smelt it in a magazine on one of those sample pads and adored it. From then on, I tried new fragrances each month and built up quite the collection.
Nowadays I don’t have as much disposable money to buy perfumes on a whim like I did. I have bills to pay, kids to feed and clothe. If I am buying a perfume, I need to know I really like it before I fork out for a big bottle and this is where Subscents come in.
About The Brand
In 2018, Subscents was just an idea to them. In 2020, they made it a reality. They know that buying high end and luxury fragrances can be expensive. To get the best price, you often have to buy the biggest bottle. As big fragrance lovers themselves, they wanted their customers to be able to purchase their favourite scents at more affordable prices, Plus they also have free delivery and a loyalty system called Subscents Rewards.
The Website
The website stocks a number of different brands from Giorgio Armani to HUGO BOSS to Thierry Mugler. They then have a variety of different scents from each brand. From there, you can choose the size sample you would like. The 2ml size is perfect if you’ve never tried the fragrance – a great ‘try before you buy’ size. It is also good if you need a small amount but don’t want to cart around a big bottle as the size is portable and will last you all day.
The 5ml bottle enables you to wear a scent fairly regularly but not too long that you quickly get bored of it. The 10ml is perfect if you’ve discovered a fragrance you love but are conscious of the price. Finally, the 20ml option is 2 of the 10ml bottles to keep it compact and portable but with enough fragrance to last you for quite some time.
What I do love about the site too is that should you find the scent of your dreams and your finances allow it, you can then buy your full size original bottle through them too!
What did I think?
I really love the concept of this site. It is a great way to discover new fragrances and see which ones work best for you. I was sent 4 of a larger size and 1 of a smaller size (a couple of Dior fragrances and a couple of Maison Margiela’s for the larger size and a Creed for the smaller size).
I really liked all of the fragrances but as with all fragrances, you will always find one that suits you the best and that you like the best. For me, mine was Dior Absolutely Blooming and I may have already suggested to Steve that it would be a good Christmas or birthday present for me!
Overall, I think this is a great concept and a wonderful way to help people find the fragrance of their dreams without making a large financial commitment first. I am definitely going to be telling my scent loving friends about the site and will definitely be checking back in when I am once again in need of a new scent.

Yes, I really like the sound of this too and great that it breaks the perfume down into affordable sizes. I love Dior perfumes and haven’t had one for ages due to the price, I’m going to check out the Absolutely blooming one you recommend. Mich x
What a great idea, I will definitely go check them out! I too love perfume but often find going into a store to try out different scents becomes overwhelming after the first few as it can be hard to distinguish between smells when you have tried a few lol! Love the idea of being about to try out different sized pots at affordable prices until you find ones you absolutely love!

I love the idea of trying out different fragrances to see which one is your favourite. I always get overwhelmed when smelling fragrances in-store (too many scents at once!), so it’s lovely to be able to try them out individually at home.
I love little perfume containers which I can take out and about with me. I like to try a range of scents too, my shelves are full of half used perfumes.
