Scrub Love | Mint Temptation Coffee Body Scrub

For someone who doesn’t really like the smell of coffee, I had never really considered trying a coffee scrub. However, when I was approached by the team behind Scrub Love and they offered me the chance to try one of their scrubs, I had to give it a go just to see what all the fuss was about. I was sent a pouch of the Mint Temptation body scrub (RRP – £12.95) to see what I thought. A  pouch is 200ml which is quite a lot of product.

First up, let’s talk about the packaging. It is incredibly simple but manages to also be oh so cute. The white background with black dots offset by the colourful label is a common theme among the Scrub Love body scrubs and I love it. The colour of the label really ties in with the product ingredients and that I really like.

The scrub itself is made from 100% natural ingredients. They claim to banish blemishes then target acne, stretch marks, cellulite and anything else you throw at them – giving you a gorgeous glow. But could this live up to the claim? Containing such organic ingredients as roast organic coffee, peppermint oil, dead sea salt, argan oil and aloe vera, I was interested to see if it could live up to my expectations. Packed full of these ingredients with tons of vitamins and goodness, I had high hopes.

So what did I think? Well this doesn’t half wake you up! I’ve been really struggling with sleeping lately leading me to be pretty out of it when I finally do get up. This scrub really brings a zing to your morning routine, waking you up as the combined smell of mint and coffee hits your nostrils and the scrub gets to work.

I’ve been using this sporadically over the summer holidays when I’ve felt the need for a little pick me up, a little treat, as you can imagine the past six weeks have been very hectic and a little stressful. Now that Jack is going back to school, I want to take a little more time for myself and am definitely considering picking up the other scrubs in the range.

Overall, I am very impressed. For someone who doesn’t like the smell of coffee, the scent here is very, very light and doesn’t bother me at all – the mint overpowers it to leave you feeling refreshed and glowing. I am keen to try more in the range – especially knowing that Scrub Love themselves are not only an organic UK based skincare company but also fairtrade, Rainforest-Alliance Approved and ethically sourced. Things they should definitely be proud of and what make me more likely to choose a brand.

Have you ever tried a coffee scrub before? What one is your favourite?
