With the current global situation, looking after our health and immunity couldn’t be more important. Whilst myself and the kids have barely left the house unless absolutely necessary or taking daily exercise in recent weeks, we could also do with building up our immune systems. Olivia seems to catch everything going and whilst Jack never used to, he seems to be more susceptible to colds and bugs now too. With this in mind, the arrival of some products from the Sambucol Immuno Forte range, for both us adults and the kids, couldn’t have been more timely.

The products arrived in this cool packaging and the kids loved the touch of the cool squeezy toy inside!

We were sent a couple of bottles of the Immuno Forte + Vitamin C + Zinc (which is suitable for both adults and children) and a couple of bottles of the For Kids + Vitamin C (suitable for kids).
Sambucol was developed over twenty years ago by a leading virologist. They discovered that black elderberries had significant anti-viral and antioxidant properties. They have used a unique formulation and extraction process to maximise and preserve the health benefits. Did you know Sambucol provides a distinctive mode of action called AntiVirin®, which works via three simultaneous ways, it inactivates infectious viruses, helps protect healthy cells and boosts immunity.
It also contains Vitamin C which is a well known antioxidant and is incredibly important for your immune system.

So how does it work? The Antivirin® mode of action works by coating viruses, restricting their ability to penetrate and infect more healthy cells. This helps to neutralise and restrict the viral spread meaning a shorter duration of illness and less severe symptoms, according to studies.

So what do we think?
Well we have been taking these products for around a month now although we don’t remember to take them everyday – we try to but things sometimes get in the way. I have noticed that the only thing I seem to be getting is hayfever and the odd headache which I usually get with the fluctuation in the weather.
The kids don’t seem to have caught any bugs either. Of course, they haven’t been at school but Steve has still been going to work so there is still the potential of him bringing something back, despite social distancing.
Whether I can see this is because of the product, I don’t know – too early to say – but we will keep using it and see what happens.

In regards to the packaging and the taste, I am impressed with the packaging. The kids bottles come with a dosing cap whereas the others come with a dosing spoon, making it easy to give the correct dosage. The bottles are also child locked – or so it seems – so the kids can’t just help themselves.
The taste takes a little bit of getting used to but isn’t unpleasant. It isn’t as pleasant as certain kid’s medications that we all have in our cupboards, say – but it is definitely much nice than most others!
We will be continuing using the products for the forseeable future as anything that can help build immunity is a good thing in my eyes. Of course, eating well, exercise, sleeping well and limiting treats all help too!
Do you take anything or do anything in particular to help you boost your immunity?

I think vitmains are often a worthy thing to have, especially if you need a boost or if you have fussy eaters in the house, these look good and worth a try, great review.
I don’t take anything, but I really should as I will admit my diet isn’t all that varied so supplements etc would be useful x
At present all the vitamins taken I think are good. It is hard to add everything into your diet so a little boost goes a long way
I always stock up on extra vitamins, every little extra helps boost immunity
I’d be willing to try anything to boost my immunity. Right now I am taking a mutivitamin-mineral preparation and I am exercising daily. I will check if the pharmacy near our home has Sambucol. I’d stock up on it if they have it.
I’ve heard so much about this and keep thinking should we try it out , I guess you never know until you try
At the moment I don’t take anything but at the beginning of lockdown I was looking for supplements to boost my zinc and vit c so I will look into this further, thanks for sharing!
I take some extra vitamin supplements every day! They are very helpful for me and my health!
I don’t take supplements but I agree they can be very good for certain people.
I take ones to supplement my vegan diet not any immune boosting ones though
I take multivitamins and minerals every morning along with cod liver oil, I don’t know if it makes any difference, but I don’t tend to pick up lots of bugs, despite working in a GP surgery!
I find it so hard to remember to take my daily vitamins every day, I always put them in the middle of the kitchen counter, so I see them. I think it’s important to boost our immune system, especially during this pandemic.
I take vitamins and especially more to support my immune system I think we all need something while this virus is around even our children
My mum and I just had a conversation about me taking vitamins as I don’t take any at the moment
These do sound like a really good idea for kids, I would be worried to try though as my daughter is very fussy when it comes to the taste of medicines.
