It has taken me a while to come back with books 6-10 as I sort of lost my reading mojo for a while. You can find books 1-5 here but lets talk about what I thought of these five books.
Surviving Me by Jo Johnson – 4/5 (ARC sent for review)
I reviewed the book here so won’t go into too much detail but simply put this is an emotional read which focuses on life and mortality and the prospect of death. It is hard hitting and definitely worth a read. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
My Greek Island Summer by Mandy Baggot – 4/5 (ARC sent via Netgalley for the purpose of review)
I reviewed this book here and have reviewed other books by the author here. As I have come to expect from the author, this was a great read and perfect for summer. Definitely worth a read whilst chilling out on the beach! You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
For Better, For Worse by Jane Isaac – 5/5 (ARC sent via Netgalley for the purpose of review)
I first read a book by this author earlier this year and so when I saw this book available from the author on Netgalley, I just had to request it. I absolutely loved this book.
This is the second book in the Beth Chamberlain series and the second book I have read from the author. The book has an interesting premise. With an upcoming trial for possession of images of children, Stuart Ingram is murdered and Chamberlain and her team have to find out what happened.
Two murders follow and they seem to be linked to a children’s home in the 1990’s and the suicide of a teenage girl who lived at the home. Some characters returned such as Chamberlain’s team, her sister Eden and her sister’s ex Kyle.
I found myself really disliking certain characters and with good reason as it turned out – with them being very involved in the whole messy business. I will certainly be reading more in the series. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
A Little Pick Me Up: Shining A Light On Your Darkest Emotions by Katie Portman – 4/5
Written by fellow blogger Katie who blogs over at Pouting In Heels, this was just what I needed during these strange days. Katie helped me to realise certain emotions I was feeling and how I could deal with them better. This is definitely a worthwhile read. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
The Keeper by Diane Saxon – 5/5
Olivia actually chose this book for me from my Kindle to read list and boy, am I glad she did. This was a psychological thriller that I just couldn’t put down. Jenna is a police officer who suddenly finds everything a little close to home when her sister goes missing and her sisters pet Dalmatian is found injured, discovered right near a dead body. Who has taken her sister and why? Will her sister get out alive? This kept me reading on and I finished this so quickly as I was desperate to get to the end. I couldn’t believe i when the culprit was revealed, I never would have expected it! A great read and I’ll definitely read more from the author. You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
I have now got my reading mojo back big time so you’ll probably see another update real soon! What have you been reading lately?

Thatโs a good set of books and all look interesting . I will add them to my reading list.
I love to read but I’ve not read any of those, you’ve got a nice variety there. I do fancy reading Katie’s book as I’ve always enjoyed her writing style. Mich x
Some great sounding books. With less to do and lockdown I have been reading more and getting through books generally in 2-3 days which is pretty quick for me x
All of those books sound amazing and I’ll definitely check them sometime. A reading challenge is a great idea to do during this time.
I like that you have read different types of books. I have heard about Surviving me before, and I have been wanting to read it for a while. My Greek Island Summer also sounds like a great book to read and forget about what we are going through now.
I have lost my book reading mojo too. However I am reading more magazines but have 3 books on my kindle ready to read. The Keeper sounds interesting ๐
Oooh I like the look of these books! I really fancy The Keeper as I love psychological thrillers!
My wife s the big reader and I’ve recommended a couple of this already to her, its been a funny year and I don’t blame you for briefly losing your mojo, a good variety of books on this list though.
