Now you will all know by now that we were moving house recently. Well…we are now in and whilst we are still sorting stuff out, some rooms are really coming together. It was quite a stressful move due to the current lockdown situation but Laura from MissLJBeauty has some great tips for a stress free move if you happen to be moving soon.
The first room to really come together is the games/gym room which is situated in the annexe off the kitchen. I thought I’d show you a little bit of it today! It is still quite bare – we are planning on getting more games/gym related equipment in there including one of these gaming chairs but I thought I’d show you the little bits it currently has.
We are still waiting for the surround but the darts setup is coming along quite nicely with the board and the light up already. You can find Steve in this room most evenings – he plays for two darts team normally (he’s captain of one) so he’s keeping practising for when he can go and play again.
We’ve also got some fab gym equipment in the room including this exercise bike and some weights. I am determined to get on top of my weight loss and get back on the wagon, so to speak, so will be using this room a lot.
We’ve found this room to be perfect for storage so we currently have a few different storage solutions in here – and we also have our old chest freezer in here which will be taken to the dump once they are open again! This particular storage is the 5 Drawer Rustic Brown Abacus Storage from Rattan Direct (I reviewed it here). I think it makes a perfect addition to the room.
Of course – I’d have to store some books in here. I’ve currently got a couple of plastic storage tubs in this room with some of my books I want to keep which will eventually be moved to the study (currently housing the books I want to read and then probably donate). However I was trying to find the perfect spot for my Agatha Christie collection and Steve suggested in this room and I think it works perfectly! I talked about how Agatha Christie is one of my favourite authors here and I’m so happy to have my collection on display in this way.
Whilst the room isn’t quite all done, I think it’s coming together quite well. We’ve started decorating it to feel more like us – some new homeware items and a fresh lick of paint which also had us wondering what the best paint for skirting boards was.
I’m thinking about sharing about the different areas over the coming weeks as we make them feel like home. Perhaps the study next?

Ohh now this sounds like a great room to have! It would be nice to have a bit of a home gym – though I’m not sure I could actually do much in one lol.

I love changing round the rooms in my house, I really need to sort out our spare room soon.
A dartboard is a must in any house! I know that because we have one, my hubby plays for a darts team a few nights a week. I used to play for a team myself, before my children were born.
oh now I would love to have a gym at home to keep in shape

So great to have the space to have a dedicated games/workout room! Especially given the current circumstances! My grandad used to have a dart board in his summer house in the garden and it brings back fond memories
We have just reinstated our dart board and we have been having lots of fun with family competitions
Love the idea of having a gym/games room and it looks like it is coming together really nicely! I would love to be able to have a gym room where I could escape for some me time, my husband would love the dart board too!
