Life In A Lockdown {Linky} – Week 4

It has been so wonderful seeing so many of you joining in now with this weekly log of what we have been up to during lockdown. It is nice to get new ideas of things to do, recipes to try and things like that from other people.

Once more, Sarah and I are here asking you to answer the questions and tell us what your week has looked like. Please link up using the Inlinkz linkup at the bottom of the post but we do ask that you link to Sarah and I in your content, either within the text or with the badge. There have been instances of people not even mentioning that we created the questions and lots of people linking to just Sarah. I hate to be a stickler for the rules but it would be nice if people could keep to them when using our linkup to linkup!

But onwards we shall go to the questions…

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am doing okay but I have had a bit of a stressful week. Jack had a trip to the hospital this past week after tripping on one of the steps outside which resulted in a very deep gash. The nurse told Steve that it was super close to the bone so he was very lucky. He got six butterfly stitches which are to come out on Wednesday and we are hoping it doesn’t scar.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

I’ve been working a lot – doing plenty of stuff for my VA clients. I’ve also been sorting out surprises for family. I ordered my mum some cakes from our local tearooms, The Enchanted Tearooms as well as ordering some for our house too! I also ordered my grandparents some gifts – some fudge and a box of Roses – to put a smile on their faces. I’m also still loving the gifting groups – I’ve bought some lovely items for some fab people and we’ve been lucky enough to be gifted some stuff too!

I’ve also been working on my freelance stuff and VA stuff. I’ve pitched a couple of article ideas to some different places and I’ve been updating my virtual assistance packages, even creating a new logo – I’ve even put it in my sidebar!

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

Yeah, I am dealing with everything just about. It has been a stressful week but I’m looking ahead to this week and being more positive. I’ve popped out once this week to Aldi for essentials.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Stay at home and keep safe. Same as I say every week.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I bought some delicious cake boxes from The Enchanted Tearooms as I mentioned above (see photo below).

I’ve also ordered some items as gifts as I also mentioned and some homeware stuff that we need from Amazon.

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

It has been rubbish. We have really failed to get back into the home school routine but we are starting afresh this week.

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Just a few friends coming over when this is all said and done.

Now why don’t you answer the questions and link up below?

  1. I think everyone is getting used to lockdown life now and just waiting for the day we can start to re-emerge, I hope this week is less stressful for you

  2. Oo buying cakes is always a winner, especially at this time! We have ordered a little afternoon tea from a local business and it’s such a nice treat 🙂

  3. The best way to spend lockdown is to spend it with cakes! Hope you enjoyed yours as they look delicious

  4. MELANIE EDJOURIAN says:

The gifting groups sound nice to give people a little pick me up. I’ve steered clear as I don’t have much in terms of funds on top of donations elsewhere at the moment. I must look into local tearooms near me, saves me baking the cakes for once lol.

  5. Can I have some cake please, I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I am craving cake so much of late. Hopefully, people will link up to us both this week!

  6. The cakes look delicious! I’ve been trying to support local business as and when I can just now by ordering bits and bobs – definitely a few treats! It’s a real pick me up and I know how much it’s appreciated by the businesses too.

  7. Julia Linsley says:

  8. Lyndsey cooksey says:

A great breakdown of your week. I’m doing OK, still anxious about essential shopping but enjoying the bubble I’m living with with my family.

  9. Eva Katona says:

Keeping busy is essential these days, not only to bring the money in but for keeping sane too. It’s hard juggling with the children and home duties but it is temporary.

  10. You are a fabulous VA and hope your pitch and new updated logo gets you noticed even more, sorry to hear about your son too, hope he is feeling better and the wound does not scar

  11. Melanie williams says:

Staying home to stay safe is a must for sure. Oh my gosh I am loving the look of those yummy cakes xx

  12. Oh no sorry to hear about Jack, hopefully it will all be healed when the stitches come out!

I think staying busy is key at the moment and it sounds like you are doing a fab job and keeping busy and staying positive. We still don’t really have a routine here either its so hard to get into one isn’t it when its such an uncertain time.

Stay safe and take care x

  13. Hope the stitches are healing nicely and Jack is feeling ok now. I am looking forward to seeing friends and family

  14. I hope J’s face is doing ok, we had a near miss with the trampoline this week, I am glad it wasn’t worse.
Those cakes look blooming amazing. I need cake.
Glad you are keeping busy. I would love someone to help me do some of my stuff like a VA, perhaps when life is more stable £ wise I may have to pick your brains and see if you can work some magic for me!

  15. Oh no, I’m glad Jack is on the mend. Poor thing, fingers crossed for no scarring!

    Katie xoxo
