How Did I Do In My 2021 Reading Challenge?

I set a challenge of 25 books for 2021 and I am proud to say I managed to beat it! I ended the year on 43 books which I am quite happy with. It could have been more but with the busy times that come with a house move and Christmas, I didn’t end up having the time to in the end! I shared the books I read over the year with the final instalment I wrote being books 31-35. Today I wanted to share my thoughts on books 36 to 43.

Death Comes to Bishops Well by Anna Legat (4/5) – ARC sent for purpose of review

Murder At The House On The Hill by Victoria Walters (4/5) – ARC sent for purpose of review

A murder mystery and a bookshop? This sounded like the perfect read for me. I really enjoyed this read – as you can see from my review here. This was very Christie-esque in places. You can buy the book here {affiliate link}.

Death In The Woods by Jo Allen (5/5) – ARC sent for purpose of review

I had previously read and reviewed a couple of the other books in the series so was really happy to review this book too. This was a complex matter and had a tough subject matter but the author navigated it well. I will certainly be reading more in the series. You can buy the book here {affiliate link}.

You’re Kind Of A Big Deal: Level Up By Unlocking Your Audacity by Erin King (3/5) – ARC sent via Netgalley for review

I really enjoyed the anecdotes about the author and her friends and how they have grown their businesses or come up with the ideas for their businesses.

I really also like the idea of Big Deal Energy. However I did get a little frustrated in certain places where the information given seemed a little repetitive and plenty of it seemed common sense.

A Cornish Christmas Murder by Fiona Leitch (5/5) – ARC sent via Netgalley for review

You know how much I love this series!

This is another great addition to the series. I loved the idea of being stuck at a house and Jodie having to try and work out what happened, mostly without any help from her usual motley crew – she had her mum, daughter and Debbie with her but no Nathan (until later) or Tony (at all!).

I do wish a few characters had been developed a little more as I would have liked to see more of them but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You can buy the book here {affiliate link}.

Moms Don’t Have Time To Have Kids by Zibby Owens (5/5) – ARC sent via Netgalley for review

This is a fantastic collection of personal essays from moms talking about some of the best and some of the toughest times of their lives. As parents, we often feel like we don’t have enough time to do certain things and these interesting essays were so relatable and so true to life. You can buy the book here {affiliate link}.

Cherringham: Killer Track by Matthew Costello & Neil Richards (5/5) 

Another great addition to the series! I love Sarah and Jack as a detective team and always look forward to reading the next one in the series. You can buy the book here {affiliate link}.

So I managed to beat my reading challenge – how did you do? I’ve set myself a challenge of 50 for 2022!
