The theme of this month’s box is Winter Warmers & New Year. So what did we think?
Curiously Cinnamon breakfast cereal – £2.80
I already know the whole family loves this – it is a staple in our breakfast cupboard! It contains 7 vitamins and iron, is a source of calcium and is 33% whole grain too. Plus it tastes delicious! This won’t last long!
Aspall Draught Cyder 500ml – £2.20
Steve’s favourite cider is Aspall so he was very happy to see this in the box! This didn’t last long – and we will, of course, be buying more! This is a crisp medium dry cyder and he loves it!
Rhythm 105 Hazelnut Praline Soft Baked Cookie – £1.49
This is a soft blonde Swiss chocolate chip cookie and it is filled with a creamy hazelnut chocolate praline and with a topping of a sprinkle of toasted hazelnuts and chocolate chips. This is vegan, organic and gluten free. It also contains 27% less sugar.
I ate this and I must admit I wasn’t a fan. It filled a gap but it was quite bland in taste.
Nick’s Crunchy Caramel – £1.50
This contains no added sugar, no palm oil and no gluten. This was very crunchy and had a little bit of flavour but was fairly bland – I am not sure if I would pick it up again.
Swizzels Drumstick chocolate – £1
This delicious chocolate contains a raspberry and milk centre that tastes just like Drumstick lollies! We have tried this chocolate before and really enjoyed it too so we were very happy to see this included and it didn’t last long!
McVitie’s Mince Pie Milk Chocolate Digestives – £1.59
These taste just like Christmas! These take some getting used to at first – after all, the taste of mince pie isn’t what you normally expect in a biscuit – but these are unexpectedly moreish and they were soon gobbled up by my lot!
Amy’s Kitchen Organic Quinoa Kale and Red Lentil Soup – £2.15
I eat a lot of soups for my lunch so was interested to see this soup in the box. With organic ingredients and being gluten free, vegan and low fat, I am looking forward to trying this as I haven’t yet given it a go!
Cup Noodles Soba Japanese Curry – £1.49
These are the Product of the Month and I must admit I really enjoyed them! These taste absolutely incredible and are ready in just three minutes which makes them the perfect lunch option!
Cheesies (Cheddar) – £1.19
My family love their cheese so these were a snack that they were very happy to try! They are a crunchy snack made from 100% cheese and contain no carbs or sugar. They are also 120cals per serving and naturally packed full of protein. We will definitely be picking up more of these!
Pipers Pitta Chips Garlic & Herbs and Biggleswade Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream – £1.20
These are crunchy and delicious – I will be grabbing some more of these from the shops. I especially loved the Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream ones as they were bursting with flavour!
VAHDAM India Maharaja English Breakfast Black Tea – £1 each
I don’t drink much tea – usually only at other people’s houses – so I am passing these along to my Mum!
Vita Coco Choc-o-lot – £3.75
This is a chocolatey coconutty drink. It contains only 25 calories per 100ml, is dairy free and is full of vitamin C. Jack wasn’t a fan unfortunately but Olivia seemed to enjoy it! We probably won’t pick it up again however.
Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil Originale Olive Oil Classico – £5
We use a lot of olive oil when it comes to cooking so this is a really handy addition to the box! It has no additives and is made using 100% olive oil! We love the Bertolli range so will definitely get this again and agai
Overall, this box was rather hit and miss – we really loved some products but some we wouldn’t buy again. The contents come to over £20 which makes it a great saving when you consider you only pay £12.99!
What would be your favourite item in the box?
This Degustabox sounds great and a good way of trying new products. I like there’s a wide variety of goods included. I love the sound of mince pie chocolate digestives, I’ve never seen or heard of them before so will have to try and get some.
I do love the sound of the Degustabox I have seen the drumstick chocolate in shops but never fancied trying it, maybe I will pick a bar up to try
I’ve seen that drumstick chocolate quite a few times before, but it seemed like a strange combo. It’s a shame the hazelnut cookie wasn’t the best x
I used to get these boxes a while ago. They are great to try new products. That organic soup looks tasty and great for vegans.
I have actually bought a pack of those mince pie biscuits, but I haven’t tried them yet. I would love to try the cinnamon cereals. I used to love Cini-Minis but they don’t bring them to the UK anymore unfortunately.
I ordered this box too and we loved everything except for the Coconut water. I had the pitta chips yesterday!
The Degustabox sounds like a fantastic box and a great way to try new products. I like the fact that some products have good/low calories (bars and cheesies), plus less sugar options. The Cheesies would be my fave and the Olive oil also looks like a winner.
