My Favourite Authors

After my post earlier about my bookish birthday wishlist, I thought it was time I shared my favourite authors. I read quite a variety of genres so my favourites might tally with some of yours whereas some may not.

Here are just a few of my favourite authors and the books I would recommend for each…let me know who you like the most and who you would recommend!

  • Agatha Christie – I think this one is pretty obvious. And Then There Were None or The Murder of Roger Ackroyd would be my suggestions for books to start with.
  • Sophie Kinsella – I do love the Shopaholic series but I really must recommend Can You Keep A Secret?
  • P.T Michelle – Not as well known as the other two but I love her. Try Brightest Kind of Darkness
  • Matthew Costello & Neil Richards – These two have created a cosy mystery series set in the UK that I absolutely adore. Cherringham sounds like a lovely place (apart from all of the murder!!) and Murder on Thames would be the best place to start
  • Amanda Hocking – I am yet to try her other series but Wake is obviously the best place to start with the Watersong series about sirens – so good!
  • Rebecca Pugh – Yes, I am basing this off her debut novel but oh, what a fabulous debut it was! Check out Return To Bluebell Hill before the release of her second book next month!
  • Emma Davies – Emma always has me hooked, Letting In Light is my recommendation.
  • J.K Rowling – Well she had to be included, right? I adore the Harry Potter series, liked The Casual Vacancy even if some didn’t and am still yet to try the ones under a pseudonym.
