Jack loves nothing more at the weekend than to watch a DVD before bed. He knows he isn’t allowed to watch before bed during the week so it is a special treat. One of his favourite ‘things’ right now is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and we were recently offered the chance to review the latest DVD, Half Shell Heroes: Blast To The Past on DVD.
This is a one off short film, running 44 minutes approx, aimed at a pre school audience. The DVD says ‘Join Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey as they make new dino-sized allies, battle aliens from the future trying to rule the galaxy, save the day and get back home! Dinobunga! With dinosaurs and space also being some things that Jack is obsessed with right now, I was intrigued to see what he thought of this.
With Jack being a massive fan of most of the elements involved in this short film, I was wondering how much he would like it. The answer is he loved it! He did get a little scared by some of the dinosaurs, despite this being for a pre school audience so this may be worth bearing in mind if your child is of a similar age to Jack or is quite sensitive like my son is.
However for the most part he really enjoyed the film and took great pleasure in telling me all about it and which turtle had done what and when. He refused to use their names, instead going by the colour of their headbands and its been a long while since I have been able to remember which is which! Luckily Daddy still knows which turtle is which so they managed to discuss it for ages.
Would I recommend? Definitely, I would just suggest bearing the dinosaurs in mind if your child can scare a little easily.
We have been given the chance to give away a copy of the DVD to three lucky winners! All you need to do is fill in the Rafflecopter form below. The giveaway ends at 11.59pm on the 12th of June and is UK only. All entries will be moderated and verified. Good luck!
