I was recently given the opportunity to try out the new biscuits from Godiva, Sables. There are four different available flavours with ingredients sourced from all over the world.
I think of Godiva as quite a luxury brand – I feel that their products are always of the highest quality and taste great too. So when I was asked to try them out, I was intrigued to see if the new Sables collection held up my expectations. I was sent the Pecan Chocolate Chip flavour, although there are other flavours to try including Macadamia Ginger.
The box I was sent was one of the individual flavours boxes which retails at £5.50 for six biscuits. Some would say this is slightly expensive for the amount of biscuits you get but then I feel the price point is on par with other Godiva products. There is also the option to buy an assortment box of 18 pieces for £15 where you can try the other flavours also.
Packaging is always a big thing for me – if the packaging looks good, you’ve already won me slightly over. The boxes all have a vintage theme; with a hot air balloon design which nods to the fact that the ingredients have been sourced from all over the world.
You may wonder why these French Butter cookies/ Breton Biscuits have been called Sables by Godiva themselves. Well, Sables is the French word for sand which they feel accurately describes the crumbly texture of these biscuits – and they’re not wrong! These biscuits certainly do crumble and almost seem to melt in your mouth. I’m not normally a fan of pecan choc chip biscuits (although Steve and Jack are) but I really enjoyed both the texture and flavour of these. These do feel very luxurious and are something I would buy as a special treat rather than for an everyday occasion.
I am definitely planning on trying out the other flavours in the Godiva Sables range. Biscuits are one thing this household all adore – which is something quite hard to achieve when everyone is as fussy as they are. I will probably pick some up for Christmas, I think they would be perfect for such an occasion.
