Recently taken over by Gemma, GeGe Hair is a salon located on my very own high street. I had never visited before the handover as there were other places in the high street at the time and also the old owner seemed to cater more towards an older clientele. However, with Gemma taking over and giving the place a refit, it has certainly arrived in the modern era.
I have known the senior stylist since I was a baby and she used to cut my hair when I was a teen so when I realised that the salon had changed hands, looked fab and offered competitive prices, I knew I had to pop in on launch day where I was told all about what GeGe had to offer and was treated to some bubbles too. I also booked in to have my hair cut and styled with Laura, the senior stylist a few weeks down the line.
The team at GeGe offer complete hairdressing services from a simple cut, wash and blow dry to the most unique colours and cuts including perms – I’m not 100% sure if they include hair weaves but I believe they do – and they also offer a wide range of beauty treatments within the salon. Gemma is also opening up a training academy for apprenticeships! As I mentioned the prices are very competitive and I recently visited to get my hair cut and styled for the first time in about two years. Yes, shocking I know!
This was the finished result and I am so happy with it! My hair was way past my shoulders and I always had it up but it was so annoying – always getting in my way. I wanted a style that suited me and my needs, that was short enough to deal with but still long enough to be able to put into a ponytail if needs be. Laura was attentive throughout, checking I was happy with what she was doing and we enjoyed a good old natter as you expect when you go to get your hair done. Jack even came in towards the end to see me getting the last bits done and he now tries to go in the salon every time we walk past it!
I am very happy with my hair – Laura did amazingly and it was a very reasonable price too. GeGe hair also offer some great special offers such as 10% off your first visit, loyalty points and 20% off the normal price for senior citizens on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! I will definitely be visiting again! You can even book online too – so handy!
