I know, I know – I only shared books 6-10 the other day but I have been reading a lot lately so thought I’d check in with the next 5. I’ve set myself a goal of 25 this year and I am already on book 18 so I think I may just smash it (unless something goes terribly wrong, of course!) So what have I been reading lately?
52 Weeks of Writing: Author Journal & Planner by Mariëlle S. Smith – 4/5 (Sent For Review)
You can read my full review here but I’ll say it simply: this is a really good read and helpful resource for any budding writer. There isn’t much to read in the book – most of it is the aforementioned journal and planner – but it is definitely worth checking out. You can pick this up on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
Cherringham: Too Many Lies by Matthew Costello & Neil Richards – 4/5
I love Cherringham books as they’re gentle and they’re quick and easy. I always end up reading a few in a row as you can see below. I still love the characters of Jack and Sarah and this one told the story of a company trying to develop on the land the village hall stands upon with the residents rightly in uproar.
Jack and Sarah have to investigate to see what is going on – with attempted murders abound, they need to stop the culprit before someone actually does get hurt! You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
Cherringham: Still Dead by Matthew Costello & Neil Richards – 4/5
Set in a distillery, this was a really good tale of intrigue as you wondered why anyone would want to kill the mild mannered victim. The reasons are shocking and the culprit wasn’t someone I had guessed! You can buy the book on Amazon here {affiliate link}.
Cherringham: Killing Time by Matthew Costello & Neil Richards – 4/5
I found this one a little harder to get into than the others but the end and the culprit more than made up for it. A story about urban explorers with one of them seemingly ‘falling’ to their death, it soon becomes clear to Jack and Sarah that this was no accident even if the police believe it was! The Ex by Diane Saxon – 5/5 (Sent For Review)
I can’t say too much about this one as I am on the blog tour for it (so you can read my full review when the post goes live in a couple of days!) However this was an amazing book and the quality I have come to expect from Saxon who is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I like the look of that series, I have never heard of it before. I try to mix it up a little and read different things and I have not read many in the crime genre.

Not heard of any of these books or the authors but Still Dead sounds exciting and the sort of book which I would pick myself to read
You are truly into Cherringham and I love these books, easy to read are my kind of book plus its crime stories my favorites. I think you will definitely do 25 books before Q1 2021 is even over.

Too Many lies sounds like a good one. I love that the Cherringham books are an easy read, as sometimes that is all that is needed and nothing to intense x
Killing Time sounds interesting! When you say urban explorers I think of YouTubers lol. You are doing well with your reading challenge

The cosy crime series sounds quite good. My aim this year is to read 60 books, so far I have read 10, so not too bad.
I just finished The Book of Dust which took me about a month but was amazing. The next book took me about 2 days to read!
