An extra post from me today! This is the World Book Day tag which was created by Steph. I saw it on Amy’s blog and just knew that I had to do it!
1. If you were stranded on a desert island with one book to last you the rest of your life, what would it be?
This might surprise people but it would actually be Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I’ve lost count of how many times I have read it over the years but I know it is something I can always pick up and read from cover to cover.
2. Which book changed your life?
I know everyone else is saying this but the entire Harry Potter series. Although I already loved reading, these books just cemented my love of reading – plus I could finally discuss books with my friends!
3. What was the first book that made you cry?
Probably Little Women; the story and the way it is written is simply heartbreaking.
4. What was the last book you read that completely baffled you?
Dead On Demand by Sean & Daniel Campbell. The premise of the book was brilliant but there were so many characters introduced and such deviations from reality that I simply couldn’t understand it. I did read it to the end in the hope that it would make more sense…it didn’t!
5. What’s your favourite novel?
Wow, this is so hard. Probably And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie OR The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd by her too – the concepts of both books prove why she is idolised the world over; the woman was a genius!
6. What’s your favourite non-fiction book?
David Jason’s autobiography My Life. That will probably only be until I get onto David Suchet’s autobiography Poirot and Me.
7. Have you ever read a book you loved so much that you refused to watch the film?
No, I haven’t. Although I do get incredibly annoyed if they change something so major in the films – like in The Hunger Games where they completely leave out the meaning of the pin badge..AGH!
8. What is your favourite way to read a book?
I like to read on the sofa, in the bath or in bed – although reading in bed generally makes me sleepy!
9. What’s at the top of your ‘to-read’ list?
Right now, it is a review book I need to read for HOEW called The Whitechapel Virgin and then it is probably going to be Hospital Babylon, Poirot and Me or Elegy by Amanda Hocking.
10. Finally: if you were me and you had to dress up as a character for World Book Day, who would you choose?
I’d probably dress up as Hermione from the Harry Potter series or Katniss from The Hunger Games.
I think everyone should complete this tag; it’s fab! I especially tag the admin team of the UK Bloggers facebook page.
