I have been working from home for a couple of years now and whilst it can be a very stressful time trying to ensure that I earn enough money for when months are really lean, I wouldn’t have it any other way now. But what do I consider my work from home essentials?
- Desktop or laptop – I usually work from our desktop computer but our laptop sometimes gets used too – all depending on where I want to work and if my computer is being temperamental in its old age.
- Working internet connection – This is a must have in order to access my emails and to send/receive documents between clients. Add to that the fact that I use certain websites a lot in my day to day work, a connection is super essential.
- Peace and quiet – Okay, this is one is a lie. My son only spends three hours a day at nursery, there is no way I am getting peace and quiet when working. It would be nice though!
Dell recently created a GIF infographic talking about all in one devices, how convenient they are and how they save us all time. Whilst I must admit that I prefer to use the desktop or laptop when working from home, both my tablet and smartphone are like mini offices and I can easily work from them if needs be.
I personally use our tablet for all the above things including work, reading and social media. Even Steve and Jack use it often for various reasons, its amazing how convenient these devices are. I would be lost without all the devices I have available to me as each helps me to work a little more seamlessly.
I only have a few essentials for working from home – if you work from home, what are your essentials?
