Why I’d Like To Go Back To Cyprus

Back in summer 2019, we went to Cyprus. It was somewhere I’d thought about going for many years – my brother used to go every year when I was younger and it always seemed like such a magical place. We finally got the chance to go and we even took Steve’s parents too. Everyone loved it and it was lovely for my mother in law to go back as she used to live there back in the Eighties.

Obviously travel is not on the cards right now and even perhaps for the next few months but I’d love to go back. There is so much to see there and it is also a wonderful place to relax. We spent many a day chilling at the villa, dipping in and out of the pool. We also headed to the beach quite a lot and enjoyed delicious food and drink at many of the beachside bars and restaurants.

But what would I do when I get to go again?

Head To The Beach

The beaches in Cyprus are absolutely beautiful – obviously some more beautiful than others. I’d love nothing more than to head there with the kids and chill out with a good book whilst the kids play together (obviously monitoring them if they go into the sea). Obviously we’d have to go when its fairly warm – Cyprus is warm most of the year round however it can be a lot colder for some of the months.

Paphos Harbour & Port

I have been to Paphos before and it is such a lovely place. It is very scenic and I’d love to take a walk along the harbour as I wasn’t able to last time. Paphos is such an interesting place.

Aphrodite’s Rock

We have driven past this but I’d love to get a little bit closer and see the rock that supposedly brings good luck and youth! It is such a stunning landmark. People can even swim in the stunning waters.

Tombs of the Kings

This is a World Heritage site and located just 2km north of Paphos harbour. It is an underground monument and is carved out of solid rocks dating back to the 4th century BC. The work of the ancient stone carvers is ornate, grand and beautiful.

Mount Olympus

I can’t claim to be too adventurous but if I was in Cyprus again, I feel like I’d have to go and gaze at the Mount Olympus. It is the highest point in Cyprus and stands at 1952m which is 6404ft. It is a wonder to behold and I really would love to see it in person.

So these are the reasons I’d like to go back to Cyprus.
