The thought of doing anything but going home after work and sitting on the sofa all night is just horrible. But we do, we have to go home and cook and clean and make ourselves clean, and then we relish in those few hours we get to sit on the sofa and relax in front of whatever we can find on Netflix. However, a simple change in routine can change how you spend your evenings. We’re creatures of habit, and all you have to do to is spend two weeks breaking that habit and experts say that your body and mind will adapt to your new way of living. Considering we’re not going to suggest making any drastic changes, we think that’s easily done. So, all you have to do is keep on reading, and we’ll show you how you can whip yourself into shape, it’s really not that hard!
Change Your Mentality
The mentality you have is going to make all the difference in how you are as a person. If you’re the type to shoot an idea down before it has even happened, then changing your bad habits and introducing new ones is going to be hard. So, for example, if you’re someone who quits because you think something is going to be hard before it actually gets hard, then that’s all you need to change. The best way to do it is to keep a goal in mind, and at this time of the year, it’s usually the goal of a summer body that keeps us motivated. With a few months left, we know that having a better body for the summer is possible. It’s going to help if you can get someone to come on this journey with you. If you have a partner that has the same goals as you it’s far easier to actually succeed. If not, then why not look at Expert PT as a way of getting into sports and fitness. If you have a PT you’re literally forced to push yourself in training sessions, and it keeps your training structured. If you can fit in one or two a week, and then go on your own once or twice a week, you’ve got yourself into a good routine and your mindset will begin to change.
Change Your Bad Habits
Bad habits are going to hold you back with any fitness journey you have, and there are two big culprits. One is binge eating and the other is binge drinking. Binge eating is more common, yet is harder to solve. It usually happens when people put such strict restrictions on themselves with their diets. We think that a treat a day can solve all of your problems. Just one chocolate bar when you’re sitting in bed watching TV can make all the difference because you feel like you’ve had a treat. As for binge drinking, try and limit it to once or twice a month. Everyone has to indulge and in our eyes, there is no issue with doing it once or twice a month if that’s what you like to do!
