Steve is always talking about quitting smoking and has tried a variety of ways over the years, even the odd vaping kit. He often loses his way with them because they aren’t quite right for him so when asked to review a vaping kit from Electric Tobacconist, he was keen to to see if their starter kit would be the right one for him.
He was sent the Hoxton Original E=Cigarette Starter Kit V2 (£14.99) and a selection of Element flavoured liquids at £9.99 each: pink lemonade, strawberry and zen. He is a sucker for a sweet flavour so these were definitely good choices for him.
So how did he get on?

Steve has been alternating between the strawberry and pink champagne e-liquids mostly, he really loves sweet things and these seem to be his favourites of the three – the strawberry being favourite overall. Having used the vaping kit for over a month now, I asked him how he feels he is getting on, if he thinks he is smoking less and whether he will continue to use the kit.
I personally have noticed a change in his smoking habits recently. Since switching to tobacco over cigarettes a little over a year ago, I am more aware of how much he buys and as I normally go to the shop and get it for him, I notice when there is a slight change. He is down by about two tobacco packs a month (he only uses around 4 anyway) so this is a dramatic cutdown from what he normally smokes.
He mainly uses the vaping kit at home (he isn’t allowed to at work) which stops him from going out for a cigarette which can be quite difficult if we have guests round who smoke but he seems to be dealing with it well.
Honestly, Steve can’t say too much about the e-cigarette itself – its quite alike to others he has tried in the past and whilst he hasn’t got anything bad to say about it, all he can really say is that it does the job well and effectively and it is fantastic for the price, very affordable. He was particularly impressed by the e-liquids however and will definitely be checking out the website to see if there are any other flavours to take his fancy.
Whilst he hasn’t quite quit smoking yet, this kit definitely seems to be helping and for that I am grateful – fingers crossed that he’s completely quit by this time next year!
