A little while back we were sent our very own copy of The Book of Everyone. I had heard so much about this unique gift, reading reviews from bloggers and consumer reviews alike and when asked if I would like to review a copy, I agreed. I chose to have it based around Jack’s birth date as I thought it would be something Jack would enjoy – and I wasn’t wrong!
The ‘Book of Jack’ arrived shortly before Christmas and both Jack and I have enjoyed looking at the pages together, finding out a little more about his day of birth. It was fascinating finding out what happened on December 4th on various years and I know Jack enjoyed some pages more than others as he understood them a lot better. Whilst this is a unique gift idea that I would have originally gifted to him, I’m thinking about sharing it with him as I like that it includes a variety of different things – and actually includes some things that mean a lot to me, even by coincidence.
This page in particular means a lot to me – and it is entirely coincidental. The blockbuster movie of the year was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II and it is funny that the people at The Book of Everyone would think to include it as it is actually the film I was watching when I went into labour with Jack. We had pre-ordered the boxset of all the films and had it delivered about two days before Jack was born. We settled down to watch the final film, knowing I was being induced naturally in the morning. Well.. Jack had other ideas and I had to rewatch the film two weeks later because, let me tell you – I didn’t remember a thing! This film will always hold a special place in my heart for this reason (as well as the fact it’s a Harry Potter film) and this page therefore means a lot to me.
Another of the pages that means a lot to me is this one:
I know it isn’t the lyrics of the song but this page really reminds me of the song ‘You Are My Sunshine’ which is the first song I taught Jack to sing. I love this quote though and it totally sounds like something Jack would come out with!
Would I recommend The Book of Everyone as a gift idea? Certainly. It has everything you need – its something unique that you don’t need to worry about other people getting, it holds interesting information, it often has meaningful things inside like the two that stuck out specifically for me about Jack. It is just a lovely little gift for anyone in your life and I will definitely be purchasing for friends and family in the future.
