Picture bears no relevance to post…how pretty though?
I saw yesterday that Sophia from Tattooed Tea Lady had created a new tag and I just had to get involved!
Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I have actually had plenty of blogs over the years but never kept them up for very long. I actually found one the other day, talk about major cringe! It was from way back when and some of the stuff I had written was proper embarrassing! This time round, I actually started blogging because a few other girls I spoke to on a regular basis had too! I used to be a regular commenter on the More magazine Facebook page and from there met some wonderful bloggers. I can’t remember who it was who first started the chain off, but we all decided to give it a go – and most of us are still blogging now! I started in January 2011, but my posts were very sporadic up until about September last year, when I was starting to resemble a whale and found myself with more time on my hands.
Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
A little biased, since she is one of the girls from the More page – but it would have to be Rachel from Life Of A Sweetaholic. She seemed to find her feet very quickly in the blogging world and introduced me to some fantastic blogs! The first blog I think I followed that wasn’t from the More page was Secrets Behind The Closet Door.
What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?
I think it would have to be any of the MUA products. Although they were around, the blogosphere seemed to go crazy over them last year (and this!). Most of them were, yes. Some, not so much. But at that price, who’s complaining?
What are your favourite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
Being able to get my thoughts and feelings out onto a page.
Meeting new people – I have made some fantastic friends through blogging
Trying out some products I never would have before
Actually having a hobby that I’ve continued with
Forging some great relationships with fab brands
What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
That not everything will work for you. That people have differing opinions. That some things are worth spending the money on, whereas some are worth buying the budget version.
Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
I wear more makeup, I actually have a skincare routine and stick to it, I actually know about what I am using. I don’t just pick things up because they look nice, I do the research with blogs first.
What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
Interact with the rest of the community, don’t feel pressured into reviewing the latest hyped up product, post when you want to and about what you want to. There aren’t any rules.
Name your top five brands!
Rimmel, MUA, The Body Shop, Herbal Essences, Elizabeth Arden

Oh, I know – it just had no relevance to this post x
