Beauty | Enca AC Control BB Cream
It seems to be all about the BB creams over on this here blog recently, doesn’t it? For someone who declared her dislike of them not too long ago, I have had some pretty positive experiences with BB creams that I’ve tried since. As part of my monthly reviews for Wishtrend, I was recently sent this item to try out and see how I got on. I have been trying it out for a little while now and finally feel ready to give my views.

Said to be a tri functional cream, I was intrigued to see if it could really tackle all 3 areas: wrinkling, whitening and protecting my skin from the sun. Although whitening isn’t really a problem for my skin, I have recently noticed some fine lines and wrinkles appearing on my complexion and am starting to think that the best idea is to tackle them head on before they get too bad. I also really need makeup items with an SPF as I am so awful at remembering to put sunscreen on – so knowing that the makeup I am wearing is protecting me just that little bit is very reassuring.

I put this to the test on a busy Saturday at work. Working in retail means I am on my feet all day and inevitably rushing around, especially on a market day such as Saturday, so I really need something that will last the distance and not disappear too easily.
As you can see from the two pictures above, the cream is a fairly light colour and I did wonder if this would leave me looking, thus feeling, washed out. Once blended (in the bottom picture), it actually left my skin looking quite radiant and healthy. I do often look washed out and exhausted when at work, I have been suffering sleep wise recently, but there is one girl at work I speak to quite often about different makeup (I also often tweet asking for advice on her behalf – she loves all you beauty bloggers out there!) and she remarked how bright my complexion was. This was really nice to hear as it is all too easy to feel a little self confident when trying out a new product, even if it looks perfectly fine!

This BB cream, as well as its tri-functional elements, is also acne controlling if you hadn’t guessed the name. I don’t really suffer from acne, only suffering from a breakout or a little bit of redness occasionally, so I cannot comment on how well it works in regards to that claim.

How did it fare? As I said, whitening doesn’t really pose a problem for me, but when it comes to the other two functions, it did quite well. Whilst leaving me with a fresh complexion, this cream also helped to slightly cover the fine lines that have started to crop up. I say slightly, as they were still noticeable, but nowhere near as much as before. The SPF left me feeling very well protected but whether it really protected me as much, I cannot be sure – I was in work for most of the day and the sun truly did not have his hat on that day!! Its wear time was pretty impressive. I was at work for 6 hours the day with a commute either way (only 15 minutes but I have to get into town early for work and have to wait around for a bus afterwards…) so let’s say 8 hours – this was just starting to shift after that time, which included running up and down the two flights of stairs numerous times for customers plus constantly rushing around downstairs changing displays and carrying heavy items everywhere. Pretty impressive, huh?

It seems that my opinions on BB creams have totally swung in the opposite direction in 2013 – my experiences so far have been totally positive and this one is no different. You can buy the Enca AC Control BB Cream on the Wishtrend website here for under $25 – definitely worth investing in!

I will be posting a review of another Enca product in the week, keep an eye out for that!

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream

Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream

I really look forward to receiving my Wishtrend parcels every month now. As part of the WUBB Review Panel, I get the opportunity to try out some amazing products that I would have never thought of buying before but are slowly making their way into my regular routine.

I spoke about the Wishtrend Fortune Box at the end of January (here) and this was one of the products I was looking forward to. Klairs is a name I have seen floating around the beauty world for quite some time and I wanted a piece of the action.

Designed to make the skin feel softer and replenished, this cream is suitable for all skin types. Whilst finding out a little more about the product, I found out that it was/had:
-no alcohol
-no parabens
-no artificial colouring
-no animal testing

A big thumbs up in my book! Although I am not as clued up on chemical nasties as others may be, I am starting to take an active role in moving away from products that contain them. I used this after my toner, gently patting onto my face like suggested. Did I notice softer skin? Not at first. Was it soothing and moisturising, like the name claims? Yes and no – I definitely felt it doing its work and it left me feeling quite relaxed but I wouldn’t say it definitely soothed my skin.

Although I didn’t notice a difference straight away, over the past few weeks that I have been using this I have noticed that my skin is a little softer and a little more supple. Ever since Christmas, work and home life has been hectic and more than a little stressful and my skin was starting to feel the strain. Obviously, the glory cannot all be given to this product, I use a variety of products in my skincare routine but this definitely contributes to making my skin look a little less haggard, a little more glowing.

Have you ever tried any Klairs products before?

Wishtrend Fortune Beauty Box

Wishtrend Fortune Beauty Box

The lovely people over at Wishtrend kindly sent the WUBB Review Panel their highly anticipated Limited Edition Fortune Box* to test out this month. Packaged in a box with shredded red tissue paper, the red theme continues through to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Korea.

This box costs just $29.99 for all of these products – all are available separately on the website but this is not a deal to turn your nose up at!

So what did I receive?
I had been eyeing up the Klair’s products on the Wishtrend website for quite a while now so was ecstatic to see this included in my box. I have tried it out a few times since receiving it and will be writing a full review up soon. The price of this has almost covered the cost of the whole box!

Designed to remove redness, this little beauty couldn’t have come at a better time. I have heard only good things about Skin & Lab products so I am looking forward to giving this a fair trial and bringing my thoughts back to you soon.

I have never really used serums before so I am looking forward to giving this a try. It smells absolutely delicious too!

I also received some sachets: Caolion Blackhead Steam Pore Pack sampleConfume Argan Treatment Oil sample and the Skinmiso Pore Beauty sample. Even before the samples, the products in this box come to a whopping $63.97 making this box more than worth it! They even sent a fortune cookie too!

I will be reviewing all the items included in the box in due course and can’t wait to report back with what I thought of them!

Did you manage to get your hands on a Fortune Box?

Rojukiss Spot Light BB Cream

Rojukiss Spot Light BB Cream
Older followers may know that I am part of a certain beauty panel for Wishtrend; the WUBB Beauty Bloggers. Comprised of myself, Sarah from Life In A Breakdown, D from Sweet, Grace from All That Slap, Liss from Latino Look and Laalaa from Dolce Vanity, we occasionally get sent products from their ranges to try out – sometimes the same, sometimes different.
Meet the Rojukiss Spotlight BB Cream*. Described as being good for oily and combination skin, this BB Cream originates from Korea; one of the leading original countries for the production of BB Cream.
I have tried various high street alternatives but was always told that the original formula’s were different and sometimes even better to the ones we know and love on our high street.
Said to cover blemishes whilst creating a natural skin tone, I was eager to see how it would fare. The various big name brand alternatives that I have tried have left me a little disappointed and reluctant to dip into the BB world again – so this popping through my letterbox was definitely a chance to try again!

The formula itself is quite thick, a big difference to many of the other creams that I have tried. I did worry when applying that this shade would be too dark for me: fortunately, it suited me perfectly – however, it cannot be said whether it will or won’t work for you – having only one shade does hold its limitations.

As I’ve mentioned, the formula is thick and incredibly moisturising. I found application a little rough; it seemed to drag across the skin as I was applying – however, this isn’t a deal breaker for me. I used this as a base for my makeup the other day before work and had a few (nice!) comments about my skin that day; which I’d have to contribute to the BB Cream itself!

All in all, this is a fantastic BB cream – a great alternative to Western BB creams that we can so easily find on our high street. If it applied smoothly, I would have given this a 5 out of 5 – no doubt about it! However, although it isn’t a deal breaker, I can’t get past the dragging sensation so for that reason, I’ll have to give it a 3 out of 5.

This BB Cream currently retails on Wishtrend for $20 (50ml) – which roughly converts to just under £12.50. A little more than our high street brands perhaps, but better in quality for sure.

WUBB Review Panel: ElishaCoy Skin Repairing Snail Cream – My Final Thoughts

WUBB Review Panel: ElishaCoy Skin Repairing Snail Cream – My Final Thoughts
I posted a first impressions post at the beginning of the month, talking about the product myself and 5 other bloggers were sent as part of Wishtrend’s review panel. I was loving it back then, so how have I found it after a month?

If you follow me on Twitter, you will probably know that I moan about the state of my skin on a regular basis. I was sceptical and perhaps a little unsure of using a snail cream on my face, but after taking a look at just what mucin can do to aid the skin, I bit the bullet and gave it a go.

After applying for a month, I can happily say that although not perfect, the state of my skin has definitely improved with daily usage of this cream.* I have had a tough time trying to persuade my friends and family that snail cream is actually good for you, though! A little of this cream definitely goes a long way, I’ve barely made a dent in the amount!

The ElishaCoy Skin Repairing Snail Cream retails on the Wishtrend website for $42.80 which roughly converts to £26.72. This is obviously not the cheapest of beauty fixes but when something works, price is only an object.

I will definitely be repurchasing this once I’ve finished my tub (which may not be for a while!) – my skin deserves all the love and attention it can get!

Have you ever tried a snail cream? Would you?
