This August my best friend gets married. As well as having to worry about what I’m going to wear (which I think I’ve pretty much got sorted), I’ve got to find a cute but practical outfit for Jack too. It will be in the midst of summer so potentially scorching temperatures – so I need to find something that keeps him cool whilst looking good.
I’ve been taking a look at my usual haunt, Melijoe to see if I can gather up some ideas and have found a few items that I think could work quite well. I obviously want Jack to be dressed smartly but I also want him to be comfortable in what he is wearing – we’ve all been there, dressed in something too hot and uncomfortable on a really hot day and not being able to do anything about it. I’ve chosen a few items which can be used with or without a jacket .
The items are a mixture of Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger – I wouldn’t usually buy designer labels if it was anyone else’s wedding but since it is my best friends wedding and I know Jack will get a lot of wear out of them, I’m prepared to perhaps spend a bit more.
I want to keep things as simple as possible – I will probably be in a dress and Steve in a smart shirt and shoes but I also want Jack to look good too – so I’m thinking we might pair the bright blue trousers with a lighter blue shirt or white shirt and the black loafers – although if Jack had his way, he would probably want to go in his Spiderman trainers!
Preparing for this wedding has got me thinking more and more about our wedding and what we want my friend has managed to plan hers in such a small space of time that I’m thinking we could too (although it may be a lot of stress!). We’ll see. For now, I will focus on making sure we are ready for this wedding.

We went to a friends wedding last year and I found it easy to find pretty dresses for the girls but much harder to find something for the Little Man who was just 3. In the end I went for smart shoes, shirt and tie and a waistcoat. He wasn't too hot or fussy and still looked very smart. Your wishlist looks fine, I like the blue trousers.
Oh I love the jacket, it is super cool and my boys would love it. I tend to do smart, but with converse or something such!
The black loffers look great, but spiderman trainers are a very close second. X

the trousers can be matched with a smart hoodie, or the shirt with some jeans for a semi casual look when visiting friends/family/santa at christmas or other holiday periods. I do recommend you pack those spiderman trainers in your bag too though incase he wants to have a good dance at the evening do 🙂 x
