Spending Ban | 8 days to go…and a little slip up!

So I am 23 days into my May spending ban, started by the lovely Kat from Tales Of A Pale Face. How have I done so far? Well, it seems that May is the month of sales  – Illamasqua and The Body Shop are just two brands that I can name and it took a lot of willpower to divert my attention away from them! I actually went into town with my Mum during the Illamasqua sale and I am not sure if you’d count this as cheating but she bought me a couple of things I liked whilst in town.. I didn’t ask her to, she just did…Oops!

Nevertheless, I mention in the title that I slipped up and that I did – to the grand total of £3.80 (thanks Danniella for reminding me of the price!). The only thing I have bought all month is a copy of Marie Claire magazine which I have already read & recycled – just because it had this beauty included as a freebie:
This month, Marie Claire were giving away free Avon products and it is no secret that I love a good old Avon lipstick. I knew I shouldn’t buy it and I did try to persuade my Mum to purchase the magazine for herself and give me the freebie – to no avail – so I had to bite the metaphorical bullet and make it mine!

The colour is called Smitten Red and I absolutely adore it, it actually feels like I have finally found the perfect red for me! I will be posting a full review very soon in a guest post over on Lisa’s blog so be sure to check it out!

If you’re on a spending ban, how are you doing?

  1. This doesn't count! You recycled the item you paid for, making up for the slip, aha, even if was only for the freebie! You're doing so well, I could never do this! 🙂 x

I have never done a spending ban because I know I'd probably give in. But I'm pretty good at reminding myself that I shouldn't spend my money if I have my eyes on something specific.

  3. Aaah, I don't think I could ever do a monthly spending ban! I probably should though as I am moving house next month and probably need to save the ££ for that!

(found you through the bloghop btw)

I can't endure a spending ban . It just itches me a lot {or else mum bans my pocket money} . This colour is indeed beautiful , can't wait to see how it looks on you 🙂
