Skincare | The Garage Spa Wheelie Good Cleanser & Toner

Back in May, I was sent some items from The Garage Spa to review after signing up for more information on their website. I like to give products a certain amount of time before reviewing to give as fair a review as possible so it is only now that I am putting up this post as I can finally give you my thoughts on it.

Launched in December 2012, The Garage Spa building has had many guises over the years – from an ancient stopping station to a car refuelling point – and finally, now as a spa offering car themed treatments such as the Oil Change Facial and more!

As well as offering treatments, the spa also have their own bespoke range of products – I was sent the Wheelie Good Cleanser and Wheelie Good Toner to review which you can find for sale here along with some other fab items that I am currently lusting after! These both retail at £19 a piece which is pretty reasonable for skincare – after all, it is the most important part of a beauty regime so why would you want to scrimp & save?

I love the fact that their online shop is called The Forecourt and that even the products have a car theme to them – Wheelie, anyone? It really makes the brand and its products stand out.

The cleanser and toner both come in tall silver pump bottles; I really like the sleek design and the packaging as it is very durable – I dropped the toner and you would never know! The label is simple and explains what the product is with some info about the ingredients. I have become a little obsessed with fig products lately so to see that included alongside honey and vanilla was a big plus point!

These smell really lovely, fresh but subtle – definitely not overpowering which is good in this weather! The cleanser itself is quite creamy and you only need a small amount to fully cleanse your face – say, half a pump? With tubes like this, I can see mine lasting a long while, definitely getting bang for your buck! I have absolutely no complaints about this cleanser and as I am always looking for the perfect cleanser, I think I may pretty much be there!

The toner itself was refreshing to use and definitely made my skin feel a little firmer and plumper after use. I normally forget to use toner; it is the one step in my skincare routine that I am most likely to skip or forget about but I really enjoyed using this. My only gripe would be that when pumping the product out, the consistency of the toner does seem quite watery and far more shoots out than you need – however this is easily resolved by pumping very slowly.

All in all, these products are definitely worth trying – why not support an independent brand instead of the bigwigs for once? I know that I will definitely pick up a candle or two from their shop too – plus I will be sure to pop in for a treatment if I am ever in their neck of the woods!

What is your favourite cleanser and toner?

I love supporting the independent brands. They need us as much as we need them!

  3. I think I'd really like to try the toner. Thanks for posting. I'm visiting today from Love My Post.
