I had planned on completing monthly goals posts in 2015 but that seemed to fall by the wayside after February. Oops. In 2016, I plan to set a goals post live on the 5th of every month and I will be scheduling them in accordingly, adding to them if I have another goal I want to add. I did however write my blogging goals for 2015 so I will be revisiting these here. Personal and freelance goals will be included in my monthly goals from January 2016. So how have I done in 2015 with us coming so close to the end of the year?
1 | To find a better balance
I did find a better balance eventually in 2015 although I do still find myself working during times Jack is at home or in the evenings when Jack has gone to bed. I don’t think it will ever be easy for me to completely keep work in 9-5 hours, especially when Jack is still only doing half a day. Once he is at school full time next year, I may find it a little easier to just work within these hours.
2 | Keep to a posting schedule
This also happened some of the year. Sometimes I can have a really good day and schedule loads in advance, other times I’m writing them just before I want to put them up. I hope to be able to schedule more in 2016.
3 | To reach a million pageviews
No idea if this happened, haha! I moved from Blogger to self hosted WordPress and my Google Analytics also mucked up which meant I had to reinstall it – not a fun thing to happen at all!
4 | Get back to guest posting again
I’ve done a couple of guest posts this year but not as many as I would have liked to. Hope to do more next year.
5 | Utilise Pinterest and Google+ more
I have definitely been utilising Pinterest much more but Google+ still doesn’t resonate with me. I do use it but it isn’t the first platform I think of to use.
6 | Keep to my new strategy and be confident enough to say no
I have definitely become better at saying no this year. Even if some review items or sponsored posts would suit us down to the ground, I have said no when I feel there is a good enough reason to. It has made my blogging year much more positive and I have also been more proactive in my freelance career by saying no to awful offers and instead chasing those that I want.
How have you done so far in 2015 with your blogging goals?

Great post Rebecca. I need to write up a similar post and check achievements and all. Well done you on saying No.
Thanks Stella!
Great post! I have been really bad at keeping to my plans this year so I think I might pinch your idea and write a post about it to hold me accountable! Thankyou for the inspiration!
If you do, link me to it – I would love to read!
How long have you been blogging for? I hear you sometimes I am able to schedule posts a few days or even a week in advance and others only the night before!
5 years in January!
Blogging goals for the New Year? Blimey, I need to think about that. My blog only began as a hobby to keep me occupied during my maternity leave. I wasn’t sure if it would survive after I went back to work but I’ve now been back a month and I-m still blogging. I need to do blogging goals.
I want to keep myself accountable 🙂
My youngest just started school full time in September, so since then I have a lot more time to focus on my blog which is brilliant. And one thing that I have learnt is that it is ok to say no. I was saying yes to every op and review and it got a little overwhelming,(still trying to catch up) , So now I am only saying yes to the ones I am really interested in
Same – it can get so easy to say yes to everything x
I didn’t have any – except to make it to the end of the year – wing and a prayer feature in my planning! I really must be more organised in 2016! Kaz x
We should get organised together!
I love the idea of setting blogging goals. I need to set myself some for 2016!
Definitely do, great for keeping you on track x
I had a goal to be featured in the Sun, well it was probably more of a wish and this happened back in July so I was as pleased as punch:-)
Well done Camilla! xx
Great post. I find a balance really difficult, it’s hard to split family time and blogging time!
It’s so hard!
God if i made this list with my blog in January, I wouldn’t have stuck to any of them haha. I’ve now decided not to force myself to blog but to wait for the inspiration and go from there, now Christmas is coming up i’ve had more inspiration back thank goodness! x
I’ve stuck to a few not all haha…I never do!
Great post, I didn’t have any goal’s this year – But this post has made me think bout next year x
Definitely get some written down, great for keeping yourself accountable x
Good, positive goals. I like the guest posting one as that is something that I really need to do more of
Me too!
It’s always nice to see people go back to their goals and see how well they did, rather than just setting goals and never thinking about them again.
It really is!
I made a blogging bucket list and progress has been slow so it’s good to see how others get on. I would love to be able to schedule posts and be more organised but I usually just write on the spur of the moment as it is more of a hobby for me
I love it when I schedule ahead but its so hard to find the time to do so
Oh this is such a good idea. I so need to set goals, I get on so much better when I have a plan, schedule and goal. I find that quite difficult working for myself so I’m going to try a bit harder next year.x
Good luck for next year!x
I find it really hard to schedule posts! It’s not easy that’s for sure. Good luck with keeping goals for 2016
Angela
So difficult!
I think it is great to have goals. Mine was to hit the 1million pageviews and ive done it x
Well done, very proud of you! xxxx
Do you know I can’t even remember what blogging goals I made whoops! Well done on the ones you have kept up 🙂 x
Thanks buddy! xxx
Good luck on completing the rest of your goals you seem to have done well so far. Im looking forward to when Amelia is in all day to get some more work done too ha! x
Thanks Kerry!
I think it’s great to check back in on the goals from teh start of the year and see how you’ve done
Its so handy!
Great post – I love reading about other people’s goals and achievements. I didn’t write any goals down for this year really, but I had a few vague ones in my head. I’ve surpassed some, and missed others – probably about right!
Thanks Sally!
I could do with making some. I feel like I am drowning in my blog at the moment. x
It definitely helps x
Setting goals is really important to me, I don’t think I’d get much done if I didn’t! Great post. I love reading other peoples’s goals.
Thanks Aimee!
It was such a blessing when my youngest started school in September, I can actually sit and work for 6 hours, but now i get distracted by house work haha
Haha always something to distract isn’t there? x
I’m really trying to make number 6 happen.. It can be so hard to say no, especially when money is involved!! I think I’ll feel better about my blog too if I only accept offers that are a great fit, thanks for the reminder! Hope you reach your other goals 🙂
You can do it! x
Setting goals is just like writing lists for me something to revisit and tick off it always feels so good! I didn’t set any goals in particular but feel I’ve done what I wanted to this year! Well done you 🙂 Great post!
I love the idea of blogging girls, I need to get me some for 2016!
