I posted last week about Jack getting into Infants school and now it all seems so real. As Jack came out of school the other day, so did all the forms that we need to fill in and all the dates we need to put in our diaries as we prepare ourselves for Reception.
We know the route to school, we have done the uniform buying as the nursery is attached to the school but something just seems so strange about this all. My little boy is going to be at school all day. My little boy who I wrote about when I told you I was pregnant. That little boy who I introduced you to once he had arrived. Its crazy how quickly this time has rolled around and I feel that he is growing up far too quickly.
He is so excited for September even though he doesn’t realise yet that as of right now, some of his friends won’t be attending with him. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that these appeals go in their favour and all the children can be together again in Reception.
It’s mad how strange this feels but it seems like yesterday that he was arriving in this world. These four and a half years have gone by in a complete blur and before I know it, he will be heading off to Junior and Secondary school. Its terrifying! However if my son is eager and excited for the months ahead, I should be too. I can’t wait to see what he makes of this journey. He is enjoying all aspects of school life that the nursery offers him – from sport to performing (perhaps he’ll eventually join the AMTA?) to his mathematics and English skills. I can’t wait to see how he flourishes in Reception.
