Styling A Beautiful Window Space

For as long as I can remember, the bookworm in me has always wanted that cliche window seat where you could curl up and read a book whilst also being able to watch the world go by. Of course, I never got that and never had anything big enough for a window seat but recently I noticed that our window sills are quite large and I really am not making use of them. All I do each day is throw back the drab and dreary curtains – wouldn’t it be nice if I could make the rooms and the window space seem so much prettier and so much brighter?

So how would I style a window space into something beautiful?

  • Change my windows

Not too long ago we had our downstairs windows replaced and it would be nice if we could get the same done for our bedroom windows too – I’m not too sure who our letting agent hired for the job but with Steve having worked for Everest in the past, I know that they are a brand to consider using. Of course, the windows are their responsibility but that doesn’t stop me from dressing them up from the inside, does it?

  • Change curtains for blinds

Now I don’t know about you but I don’t really like curtains. I much prefer window blinds especially the decorated ones you can get now from Luxaflex! Right now we have some drab brownish curtains that were here when we moved in. They are horrible to look at and if I want to make my window space pretty, then they need to go!

  • Add some air plants

I didn’t actually know what air plants were until recently but now I know about them I really want to add some to my window sill. They are easy to grow and thrive without soil as long as they have constant air circulation. They shouldn’t be in direct sunlight but that’s perfect as our window is never in direct sunlight. These don’t require as much upkeep as other house plants so these are perfect for me! I’ve been researching where to buy some online and may grab some from this site soon.

  • Give the room a lick of paint

My bedroom walls are plain as anything. A lick of paint on the walls will definitely set off a window space if styled correctly. I’m thinking a light shade..perhaps a light blue or purple.

Do you have any ideas on how to style a window space into something beautiful? Let me know what you would do!
