Did you go to your end of year 11 prom? I didn’t and it is one of my biggest regrets. I did, however, go to my Sixth Form Leavers Ball which I suppose was a more grown up affair – however, almost eight years on – I still wish I had gone to celebrate my leaving of compulsory education.
Why didn’t I go? Basically, none of my friendship group were going – literally no one. I didn’t feel like I wanted to spend time with a bunch of people I didn’t like who didn’t like me. However, once I got into Sixth Form, some of these very people became my friends.
This means I lost out when it comes to the experience of choosing a prom dress. I remember vividly how exciting it was picking a nice dress for my Leaver’s Ball at the age of 18 – so why did I deprive my 16 year old self? Although I am now planning my wedding, I couldn’t help but peek at the prom dresses available on JenJenHouse – what girl doesn’t look back and wonder what she would have looked like if she had the perfect dress back then? I found myself looking in this section here: http://www.jenjenhouse.com/Prom-Dresses-c18/recommend/ and found myself falling in love with a number of dresses that my 16 year old self would have loved too. I was very much into rock and metal music back then so was very into black clothing and this would probably have been reflected in my choice of dress. Mind you, I was also a fan of blue too!
Do you have any regrets about school? I see girls so excited about their end of year proms now – I’ve even seen some schools do end of year proms for the younger years – and I do wonder just how much fun I missed out on. I suppose I have all this to look forward to if I have a daughter, haven’t I? I will just have to make sure I don’t try and pick the dress!

I missed out on my prom too for the same reason my friends weren't going!

It sucks upon reflection, doesn't it?
I did go to my senior prom and I can't help but think that I'll never see that $300 again!
Eeek, $300?
I missed my prom too 🙁 my mum kept telling me she'd buy me a dress and never did so I didn't get to go but all my friends did. I've never had a chance to get all dressed up like that. Heres hoping himself gets round to popping the question lol
Aww no 🙁
