Toddler Travel Wishlist

I have mentioned plenty of times before that my partner and I currently own a static caravan down at Camber Sands. We rent it out for the majority of the year but take the time to visit with Jack when Steve has holiday from work as it is close to the sea. Foreign holidays cost the earth but for a little bit of petrol and food money, we can go and shut ourselves off from the world for a couple of days right here in the UK. 

When Jack was younger, he would sleep for the two hour drive there – however, now he is a toddler he constantly needs attention from us or to give attention to something. It is inevitable he will fall asleep at some point in the journey but we have recently been looking at some travel items to help make our journey a little more peaceful.

Whilst I am quite happy for Jack to play his games on the iPad mini whilst at home, I am reluctant to let him use it for too long, especially in the car. He can also get distracted very easily so I don’t particularly relish the thought of a book being launched at the back of my head! I have been taking a look at these maxi-cosi items from Argos and a few things stood out to me. 

Jack loves his drinks but always puts them down where he cannot reach and then I have to try and get it for him whilst Steve is driving – not ideal. A holder on the back of the front passenger seat would be perfect for him as he can also place Sam, the traveller buddy in there too. The design is something I know would appeal to Jack and would keep him amused for the duration of the journey.

I’ve also recently been thinking about getting a smaller stroller for when we visit the caravan. We only really walk to the beach if anywhere and sometimes pop into Hastings but we cannot fit our rather bulky pushchair into our car boot as well as our bags. Last time, we decided to try going without a pushchair at all as Jack is obviously really good at walking now – never again! He tired out really easily and it ended up with us carrying him most of the time – surely a small stroller would be a much better alternative?
