Pets & Friends ‘Project Blu Bengal’ Dog Bed | Review

We were sent a dog bed from the range for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

Buddy is a proper little member of the family now. We have had him for 10 months almost and he will be celebrating his 1st birthday on the 1st of April. He is definitely spoilt rotten and when offered the chance to review one of the dog beds from Pets & Friends, I had to say yes for him.

There is an extensive range of dog beds available on the site and I opted for the Project Blu Bengal Mattress dog bed XL, retailing at £69.99.

Who Are Pets & Friends?

Part of Kennelpak Limited, which was founded in 1974 as a pet food supplier. In 1983, they launched as Kennelgate and come 2020 they brought their vision of Pets & Friends to life across stores and online.

They have complete and genuine compassion for animals and adore all pets. They know how important pets are to people and strive to do all they can to help them live a happy and healthy life.

They also offer some fantastic in-store services including nutritional advisors, a weight checking service, pet ID tag engraving, grooming, training and socialisation classes and even a self service dog wash in selected stores.

All About The Project Blu Bengal Mattress Dog Bed XL

This bed is an eco and sustainable dog bed made from recycled plastic bottles which have been collected from oceans, rivers, beaches and landfill. This prevents at least 41 1.5 litre plastic bottles from polluting the ocean and our natural environment. This particular dog bed is made with at least 128 plastic bottles.

The bed is made from top quality recycled polyester fabric for a comfy and durable finish. It is packed full of recycled polyester fibre and is made in Italy.

The dimensions of this extra large dog bed are 75cm x 105cm x 10cm. It is suitable for Labradors, German Shepards, Dalmatians and other similar size breeds.

What Did We Think?

As soon as we got the dog bed out of the packaging, Buddy couldn’t wait to have a look. It doesn’t seem to have as much padding as the other dog beds we have had which slightly concerned us at first. We find it quite lightweight and Buddy has managed to drag it around a little. This is both a pro and a con – it is great that it is lightweight which makes it easily transportable despite its size, however it can be frustrating when he thinks its playtime and the bed is his toy…

We have a crate for Buddy which he uses occasionally if he just wants to chill out away from everyone and the bed fits perfectly in there. It is nice to know that if he is in there, he can relax in comfort and style with the bed.

The bed seems super comfy and soft and quite fluffy. Buddy loves jumping up on the sofa and cuddling up to one of us but is more than happy to settle down on his Bengal dog bed and falls asleep with ease. He seems to love it and that is all we can ask for.

Don’t forget to check out Pets & Friends for all of your pet related needs. Have you shopped with them before?
