I don’t know about you but my family tend to live in shorts, skirts and dresses in the summer and that means all our joggers, leggings and jumpers get stored away. I’ve often found when pulling them back out for winter that they’ve lost some of their pizazz – the colours have faded slightly and they just don’t feel as good quality as they did before.
I’ve recently pulled out some of our winter clothing, determined to give it a refresh for the colder weather with ACE for Colours Powder. ACE keeps garments bright, robust and clean so that they last for longer thanks to the active oxygen – exactly what I need! We were sent some of the powder to help create this post.
Whilst pulling out our winter clothing, I’ve also taken the time to sort some stuff out that no longer fits. I now have about eight bags full of all four family members clothes ready to go to the charity shop and these (although already clean) required a wash before putting them in – so why not put the ACE for Colours to the test with those as well?
When we store our clothes away for winter, they either go into our wardrobes or chest of drawers at the bottom. forgotten about until months later. I could really do with learning a way to store them where they stay as robust and bright as ever. When something hasn’t been used in months, I always wash it – even if I know they are clean.
This ACE for Colours powder comes in a fully recyclable Tetra Pak and can be used in your daily wash. It costs around £3 which is fantastic value for the amount of product you get. I’ve always sworn by ACE for removing stains but I wanted to see if they really could cut the mustard when it came to brightening up our clothes.
Both Jack’s grandmas tend to buy him dark red and blue items of clothing which are great for this time of year but start to dull in colour quite quickly. These maroon joggers are a particular favourite of Jack’s and he has just pulled them back out to use over winter but after months of being stored in the dark, they were looking more than a little lacklustre, starting to look a little pinker and like the colour was wearing. Popped in a wash with some other clothing and a handy scoop of ACE for Colours powder and they look brand new again – a perfect maroon and wonderful for these autumn and winter nights – particularly Bonfire Night!
Having seen the powder work its magic on his joggers, I’ve got a whole pile of my winter tunics and leggings ready to pop in too! I’m very impressed once again with what ACE have to offer – their products are a staple in my household.
Do you have any tips for refreshing your winter wardrobe?

So the way of the maroon joggers goes the way of the rest of the winter clothes! 🙂
This sounds like a great powder to keep your colours in the best condition you can! I think I might have to get some as it is such a shame when things start to dull.
I’ve just recently tried this as well, it works wonders. I love that it’s a stain remover and colour brightener at the same time. Keeps all our clothes looking brand new.
Omg, I didn’t even think of detergent bring my clothes back to life! We are the same way… the seasons are so different so I end up rotating my clothes, but they really do lose some life when they get taken out. I really hate buying new clothes so I need to give this a try!
I’m going to be honest other than jumpers I don’t tend to have much of a difference in my winter wardrobe, I just layer more. But I know what you mean about dark clothing getting a bit lacklustre I have that all the time x
I don’t know what it is about kids, but they totally trash their clothes! I need to try this washing up powder as it sounds like just the thing I need!
Happy Bonfire Night! Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part
I’m forever finding that some of my winter clothes have lost their colour over the summer months, I had no idea that this could help bring them back to life! x
I was really impressed with the ace colours as it got some stubborn stains out of the kids clothes as well as brightening them up
