OGGS® Cakes | Review

We were sent these cakes for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

We love cakes in our house but they are such a guilty pleasure! With Father’s Day rapidly approaching, we were sent some cakes from the OGGS® range – Chocolate Fudge, Victoria Sponge and Lemon Drizzle.

These cakes are wonderful for a guilt-free indulgence. They are delicious and ethical and every element of the cakes are vegan friendly. The sponge itself is made using OGGS® patented Aquafaba, an all-plant liquid egg alternative.

The brand’s mission is to create plant-based alternatives to everyday foods that taste as delicious! As well as being vegan, their plastic packaging is made from recycled material which means it is fully recyclable and also biodegradable!

I was intrigued to see what vegan cakes would taste like, seeing as you cannot add eggs, milk or butter!

So what did we think?

The lemon drizzle have a delicious zing! These taste just as good as everyday lemon drizzle cakes if not better – they have such a delicious flavour and it is incredibly intense!

They are perfectly bite-sized making them a tasty indulgent free treat!

The Victoria sponge are just as delicious too and they are packed full of tasty jam! I will admit that unlike the lemon drizzle cake, these didn’t taste quite the same as Victoria sponge but they are delicious nonetheless!

The Chocolate Fudge cakes are literal indulgence and so, so moreish! I couldn’t tell the difference between this and everyday chocolate fudge cake which definitely fulfils the brand’s mission. These were the first pack to be wolfed down, they taste like absolute luxury!

The cakes are available in packs of 4 and are priced at £4.25. They are available in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose stores nationwide and are also available online from Ocado and TheVeganKind!

We will definitely be picking some more up in the future as they taste great and they are vegan too, great if you are trying to follow a more plant based diet.

Have you ever tried anything from the range before?
