My Long Haul Landmark Wish List

Collaborative Post

I’ve said before about all the different places I’d love to visit. We’ve been talking recently about the places we would go if we were to go long haul – I am keen to go to Caribbean, perhaps the Bahamas or the Dominican Republic and Steve is keen also. However we have also had friends recently visit places such as Dubai and Thailand too and they are very appealing too!

When it comes to long haul travel, this is something Destination2.co.uk specialise in and I’ve been taking a look at their site for the best deals to the different places I would like to visit – seeing how much it will cost for my family of four and what I can see when I am out there. I love having a travel itinerary so I know what I can go and see and do -what is family friendly and what is probably best to avoid when you have children.

Here’s my list of the long haul landmarks I’d love to visit in the future:

The Atlantis Resort

I’ve spoken about wanting to visit the Bahamas and this is just one of the amazing parts that I would love to head to. Located on Paradise Island, the resort is based on the mythical lost city of Atlantis and has an on-site waterpark, casino, model archaeological ruins, and a whole host of world-class restaurants.

Tongue Of The Ocean

Whilst in the Bahamas, I would also love to visit the world’s third largest barrier reef, which can be found just off the east coast of Andros. It includes a 6000ft abyss, known as the ‘Tongue of the Ocean’ which boasts sharks, tropical fish and many other underwater creatures.

Mantas Hesthaven

Santo Domingo

It is the oldest European settlement in the Caribbean and the origin of the ‘New World’. It offers a mix of the modern and the past and has fantastic architecture! My friends always go to the Dominican Republic and it is easy to see why!

Burj Khalifa

Why wouldn’t you want to visit the worlds tallest building, standing at 2700ft tall and looking over amazing views of Dubai? My friends say the views are amazing – I want to see for myself!

Emirates Golf Club

Something for Steve. Can a golf club be called a landmark? When it is prestigious as this one, I think it can!

Mall of the Emirates

Something for me! Likewise – I wouldn’t usually call a mall a landmark but this is known the world over and what woman wouldn’t want to visit it, just the once?

Ko Phi Phi Le

Finally, whilst in Thailand, why wouldn’t you visit the famous beach where Leonardo Di Caprio filmed ‘The Beach’? I loved the film and its luscious views and scenery so I’d have to go check it out for myself!
