Olivia has always been a much worse sleeper than Jack and it has really got to me in recent months. When asked if we would like to review the Sleepy Feet Oil from Mummy Loves Organics, I knew I just had to give it a try to see if it would help.
Described as an amazing organic oil for babies and children to help them to get to sleep and stay asleep, it is also said to prevent night terrors. It uses essential oils such as mandarin, frankincense, English lavender and Roman chamomile, it is to be applied to the soles of the feet, temples and behind the ears and allowed to dry.
Retailing at £12, this product is recommended for use on babies 12 weeks or over. So how did we find using it on our 1 year old?
Well, Olivia has never been a great sleeper. Even the age old routine of bath, bottle and bed didn’t seem to work with her and I was slowly getting to my wits end. I didn’t know what to do and so when offered the possible chance of actually getting some sleep, I knew I had to take it.
We started by applying it to the soles of Olivia’s feet after she had just had a bath and just before she had some milk. After a little bit of milk, she was sparko and stayed asleep until morning! As it was obviously our first use, we didn’t know if this was just coincidence so applied it each night from then on – and apart from one or two nights where she was a little restless, we otherwise had a perfect sleep routine for her.
I won’t claim that this will work for everyone but this has been great for us. I think it just relaxes Olivia to a state where she is happy to go to sleep. All too often she is too interested in the world around us and can’t relax enough to go to sleep. By being a little more relaxed, she’s falling to sleep a lot easier and not waking up as much during the night.
This product has definitely saved my sanity and I will be stocking up. Have you ever tried this product?
