Meadow Kids Magnetic Learn and Play Chart – Tell Me About Today

Having heard a lot about Meadow Kids in recent months, I was very happy to be asked to review one of their products, the Magnetic Learn and Play chart – Tell Me About Today. With Jack getting really into reading now and starting to recognise words, I thought this would be a great help in aiding him to learn about the days of the week, the months, the seasons and the weather.

I know his nursery has something similar where one child changes the board each day but I wanted to see how Jack coped having to change his everyday by himself.

As you can see, the chart itself is for ages 3+ and is designed to help physical development, thinking and communicating. The chart comes with days of the week, a variety of numbers for the date, months of the year, seasons, years and even weather! With the weather changing as often as it has recently, the weather section has certainly seen a lot of movement!

This is how the board looks without any magnets attached. I love the fact that it is magnetic rather than having to use stickers or velcro – they use velcro at Jack’s nursery and it can make an awful mess! Both Jack and I love how colourful the board is and we both appreciate the string at the top so he can hang it either in his room or downstairs – he’s currently got it in the dining room!

The magnets themselves are just as colourful and I appreciate the fact that they actually have put two 1’s and two 2’s in the set – it has really frustrated me before when using products and not having enough numbers to make the right date – its nice to see someone get it right for once!

So what does Jack think of the magnetic learn and play chart? He loves it. Every morning before breakfast he insists on changing it round and takes a peek out the window to see what the weather is like. He is still struggling with days of the week but he is slowly starting to recognise them a little more – Wednesday is one of the easier ones for him being the only day with a W but he’s starting to differentiate between Tuesday and Thursday due to the sounds they make!

Would I recommend? Certainly! This chart is really helping Jack with his reading and comprehension skills and it is so cute to see his mind at work early in the morning as he changes the chart for the day ahead. We will definitely be continuing to use this for the months and possibly years ahead, its a great product that every household with young children should own!

What do you think of the chart?
