We’ve all been in lockdown for a couple of weeks now and social media has been awash with posts about the activities people have got up to. Sarah came up with a few questions for us all to answer and asked if I’d like to get involved. She also had the idea of setting up a linky so if anyone else wants to get involved with the post, they can post and add their link.
So what are the questions?
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)
My Answers
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I am actually doing alright now that I have got into the swing of things. The first week I had just moved into a new house with plenty of unpacking to do, was trying to work from home using only my data from my phone tethered to my laptop (yay for internet and TV being installed this week!) and homeschooling Jack whilst trying to keep Olivia watching her favourite playgroups.
But I am feeling much better now.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
Unpacking the house, working from home, homeschooling the kids and also reading where I can too. Obviously watching some stuff on Netflix too.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
I am literally popping out for essentials once a week, twice a week at most if we don’t have any bread or milk or other essential items.
4) What advice do you have for others?
Stay at home, keep yourself busy, keep in contact with friends and family.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
The only thing I have bought this week is a Morrisons Food Box, the meat one. Steve is still working (a key worker at a school) so I can’t get out to the shops very often so I thought I’d try one of these.
6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)
It has been a bit more structured than the previous week. We’ve been getting up, eating breakfast then doing PE with Joe Wicks. Then some worksheet time from the learning set by his teacher, some tablet time, lunchtime, time in the garden, some more worksheets, an educational app then dinner. Whilst they have been doing this, I’ve been working from home, unpacking and doing general household chores such as washing, hanging out the washing, putting away the washing and the washing up plus much more.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
Friends coming round to see the new house, a BBQ with friends during the summer once this is all done.
Now why don’t you answer the questions and link up below…

I have just linked up to this, I think for most of us it is starting to become easier and more normal, we are also planning meeting friends and family once this is over
It’s great that you are doing okay and are keeping yourself busy while staying at home. I hope everyone stays at home and takes care.
I didn’t know you moved house. You need to do a house tour blog post! We also unpacking at last, my bf mum moved out so I can finally put my stamp on the house! Yay! I’m also isolation as much as I can and only go shop once or twice in 2 weeks. And yes to these BBQs!
It is probably a bit of a godsend you had a move to keep you busy and focused on making a new home – and echo your advice – stay in – and make great shopping lists – amazing what can be bought in one trip now that the shops are a bit less frenzied.
What a great idea for a linky and a nice idea to connect people during the lockdown. Sounds like you are keeping yourself busy x
It’s great that you have a new home. My thoughts are with those who are in unstable housing situations, don’t have their own room or are stuck in a box room.
This is a great idea for a linky, will make sure I join in. I am ok at the moment as still working, so nothing has really changed too much, apart from my hours……working so many more
Great post and I am loving the sounds of your plans once the lockdown is over! We cant wait to have friends over for a BBQ and paddling pool time when the lockdown ends (hopefully it will still be summer!). How did you find the Morrisons box? I have seen a few people mention them and they seem like such a great idea for those who cant get to the shops or who are shielding etc!
I love that things are getting a bit easier now you are settling into the new house, I was so worried for you all at first.
Great idea for a linky, I will try and join in. I’m getting into more of a routine now, which is helping.
I love that you are doing ok, as this is such a stressful time for all involved. We are finding our feet now and have a new routine. Take care and stay safe xx
This is a great idea, its very motivating to have something that keeps everyone connected.
Great idea. I was doing alright until today, I am feeling very fed up and irritated at the moment. It is a very strange time and makes you realise just how much we do socialise with others even without realising it. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer.
Hello Bex,
This is a great idea and I, like many, support it. In turn, I also continue to work on my project, I practically do not go outside – a maximum of once a week to buy food and throw garbage out.
I have no problem what to do with myself. I actually have a ton of housework. And yes, I watch Netflix like everyone else, play a PS and write articles for my project.
great idea for a link up – I’ve joined in. I bet its been v busy with having the children at home with you all the time. It sounds like you’re all settling into a routine. It must be v weird moving into a new house too – hope you can get to know your new neighbours soon. Hope you’ve had a good Easter weekend too.
love Bec
