Life In A Lockdown {Linky} – Week 8

Can you believe we are already on week 8 of this linky? It seems crazy that this has already been going on for so long but I’m here, checking in with you all as I do every week to see how you’ve been getting on and to talk about how I’ve been getting on! So let’s talk about how my week has been, shall we?

Don’t forget to link up and please do link back to me and Sarah in the post. We don’t ask for much but a link back would be nice so that people know where the questions and tag originated. Thank you.

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I really felt overwhelmed at some points this week. I think when all of us are following the rules and then others seem to think they don’t apply to them, it is quite frustrating.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Working, writing and I’ve been reading a lot too.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

I am doing alright although as I mentioned above, feeling a little overwhelmed. I’ve popped to the shops a couple of times.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Stay at home and keep safe. Same as I say every week.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

Nothing really – just some bits and pieces that we needed around the house.

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

A lot better although we’ve had a few lie ins!

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Nope, nothing new since last week!

I agree, it’s frustrating when others flount the rules and we are abiding by them. Good you are working and writing and reading idms very good for the soul. You’ve had a good week, keep at it.

I think that it is the most frustrating when it is people within the Government, Politicians, or in the limelight / powerful:- Influential position /s. As they are meant to be leaders ( Show the majority:- The Public an example to follow). Actions speak louder than words.

Doctors, Nurses, and other employees are held accountable for their actions. So it seems that others should too. Such as members of the Government, Royalty, Celebrities, Business People, etc, etc.

Apparently Prince William and Kate may continue to keep their children away from school :- Once the English Coronavirus regulations state that children can return to school. Others may listen / watch and follow suit / mimic (copy) their behaviour. Believing that they may be doing it for Health and Safety reasons.

Yet how are we to get back to some kind of normal. When will those shielding be able to have some quality of life, and Health:- Physical, Psychological, Emotional, Mental? When will the Queen be able to be amongst the Public? Share in any Events, etc?

Future review/s should look at how Coronavirus (covid 19) began, and how it spread, and continued to spread. How the Prime Minister and Prince Charles, as well as Prince Albert of Monaco became infected by this virus. As well as were others infected. Seems ‘Track and Trace’ needed to be done at an early stage :- In order to reduce / stop the spread of the virus. Thus save lives, save the NHS, Protect the Public and others from ill health, stress, etc.

        Hi Rachel,

Can you check your emails please?

        Thanks,

  2. I have been getting more and more frustrated with our neighbours flounting the rules, both sides have had people stay over the weekend. Having a trip out to sit by the river was nice and needed though for me x

  3. It really is so hard when you see others not keeping to the rules isn’t it? I struggle with just not being able to pop round my parents.

  4. I only venture out once a week to pick up any necessities for my family and my parents. My advice is to go out as little as possible, and to make the best of the time you’re home.

  5. I have to admit, I adore quizzes like this. It’s such a fun way to get to know a blogger better. It’s not been too bad around here but I have noticed lots of younger people having drinks late at night in what I think is the wooded area behind our house which is a little annoying! I’ve luckily managed to safely see some of my family at a distance, so I’m quite grateful for that x

  8. I am the same sick of the rules being different and am overwhelmed a lot at the moment.

  9. A lovely honest account of life right now, pleased you have managed some lay ins I have too and I have a newborn whoop

  10. As the prospect of reducing lockdown restrictions, I have felt myself get more overwhelmed with it all. I know we have to return to the real world at some point, I’m just not ready.
