Life In A Lockdown {Linky} – Week 41

Time to talk about all things lockdown once again!

If you’ve been here before, you’ll remember that the idea came from Jenni and Sarah and I was kindly asked to come on board. I’ve been sharing my thoughts and feelings over the past few months so here I am once again.

Should you want to link up with us, the rules for linking up with us are pretty simple. All we ask is that you link back to me and Sarah in your post as we are the hosts and then answer the questions that we too answer every week. Once you’ve added your post, submit it via the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of the post!

Here are the questions:

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

1. How are you feeling/coping?

Struggling a little with getting used to homeschooling again – especially as it is 1) now more structured and 2) Olivia is doing it too. The kids are attending a few live sessions each every day and I am obviously having to work from home around them too. We seem to have finally found a rhythm though.

2. What have you been up to over the last 7 days?

Well we had Olivia’s birthday on Friday so we did a lot of celebrating! Other than that it has been pretty much homeschooling, working, reading and watching lots of TV too!

3. What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

I don’t really know. I do think this lockdown could be extended though – for quite some time.

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come, what would it be?

That we had each other.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like?

I’ve bought quite a few Kindle books!

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

It isn’t very unique but I have been loving reading and I’ve been reading a lot!

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

That I love a good US sitcom or Netflix series. What shows do you suggest?

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

The time spent with family. And books, of course!

  1. I agree that lockdown is going to go on for a long time, I love Netflix have you seen Bridgerton I loved it and hoping for a second series

  2. Sounds like a busy week for you, glad you all had a lovely time celebrating Olivia’s birthday. Homeschooling was a bit more tough last week but I am slowly settling down to it this week.

  3. Yes! the fact we have each other is something I’ve very grateful for, even in the hardest moments when I just want 3 minutes to breathe!

It is so lovely to lose yourself in a good book! Trouble is sometimes I am impatient and have to read it through to the end non stop, I literally cannot put it down no matter what other things need doing during that time!

  5. It is my birthday this Friday, so hoping I can get to pick a Chinese up as a treat. It’s been hard trying to juggle all our device around live learning session, as I work from home and I have 3 kids.

I really at the moment can’t see and end in sight. I have my daughter home from uni and she suffers bad with mental health problems and this in turn impacts on everyone in the house, so it’s an ongoing nightmare at the moment

  7. This third lockdown is truly trying most people’s patient, I am trying to keep my head in my books just to keep busy.

  8. I agree, I think this lock down could be extended. The vaccine isn’t rolling out as quick as people thought. I just make “long term” plans a quarter at a time.

  9. I don’t think we can be certain about anything at the moment. I’m at the stage of taking each day as it comes, I hope for nothing.

  10. People aren’t taking this lockdown seriously.

  11. I think it has just hit me that we are now in this for the long haul. It’s hard knowing that. It’s not great for mental health, even though we know we have to keep at home to protect the NHS which is so important.

I am rewatching West Wing and Scrubs right now. Both are easy to watch!
